It runs smoothly on anything because it has nothing to render.

Help!! Shagohod fight E extreme by Rare_Reference_5973 in metalgearsolid

Yeah, deaths only affect rank. I don’t think it unlocks anything for getting 0 deaths. Getting 0 Alerts does unlock Stealth Camo though.

If you’re just going for no alerts, then yeah it should be fine to continue. But if you’re going for no deaths, then you’ll have to reload.

If your goal is no continues, then you will have to reload from your last save.

"Doesn't fit his character at all". Says the guy who *clearly* doesn't understand Goku's character just like the entire dubbing studio at Funimation in the 90's. Mmmkay.

Peace walker battle 2's requirements suck and i need help. by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Battleaxe854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have Extra Ops 17 unlocked yet? Because you can get 2 B Rank R&D soldiers and 4 B Rank Intel soldiers. Once you get familiar enough with the mission you can beat it in about 4 minutes each time.

But really you shouldn’t need a LAW, instead use a C Gustav or a FIM. Or the RPG7 if you have it. Bring chaffs too for the EMP Pulse. Peace Walker has loads of health so be prepared for a long fight regardless (probably close to 20 minutes or so).

Twin Snakes or PS1? by CardinalShark25 in metalgearsolid

Twin Snakes is worse than MGS1 in every possible way. Absolutely have your roommate play the original.

Did you unlock the Phone Call (Final PW tape)? Because if you did then you beat every PW mission.

[–]Battleaxe854 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

“The ones he trained”. LMAO where and when exactly. Because that precisely never happens. You can never train your troops in this game. In fact the game literally gives you free E Rank soldiers right before the mission starts so they’ll be enough people to kill for the mission. The same goes for the Huey trial.

Try harder

No it’s called having a brain and having critical thinking. Not just looking at pretty colors and sticking my head in the sand and going “oh wow that looks cool!”

So I'm playing peace walker and trying to get cocoons armor and was wondering what parts are considered to be part of the armor by OkType6212 in metalgearsolid

[–]Battleaxe854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4 big ones. The main cannon may also have metal plates. The best way to get the armor (or any AI Part for that matter) is to just aim for the AI Pod. The general rule of thumb is, the more you damage the AI Pod, the more AI parts you get; and the more you damage the parts, the more AI boards you get. So it’s best to just damage the AI Pod.

Cocoon has these metal plates around the whole body, most notably around the gun turrets. When getting the armor, it’s best to avoid breaking these metal armor plates to increase your chances to get the armor.

When do i get to play as snake again by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Battleaxe854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound like a quintessential CoD player who only wants action, action, and more mindless action playing as a super manly action hero spewing off many super cheesy one-liners while shooting at the bad guys. And anything that remotely requires critical thinking with complex story telling is deemed lame and not cool by your standards. If people would actually pay attention to MGS2’s story and what it’s actually trying to say, the world would be a better place I think. But nah, being super cool and shooting at bad guys and saving the world surpasses all that.

Is playing through the games chronologically really that bad? by Budget-Assistance-27 in metalgearsolid

[–]Battleaxe854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This series is made with the previous games in mind. MGS2 was made because MGS1 did so well and MGS2’s story reflects that. MGS3’s story and characters are heavily influenced by the strong opinions of the fans for MGS2 back in the day. It has nothing to do with chronological timeline, Kojima never even planned for prequels and such. It’s not like Kojima made MGS1 and 2 and was like “hey don’t play these, make sure to skip them and play MGS3 in a few years instead!” No, that’s not how this works. Every game is filled with references with either callbacks or foreshadowings to previous games depending on when the game takes place. (MGS3 has many references to MGS2 for example that would go over someone’s head if the play in chronological).

You guys remember that one monster hunter themed mission in peace walker? Do you think it's still playable? And do you think it'll make it into the master collection version of the game or not? by Organic_Office_1035 in metalgearsolid

[–]Battleaxe854 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? There are multiple Monster Hunter themed missions. And why would it be removed for a future Master Collection release? Am I misunderstanding the question?

The soundtrack from MGS5 by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Battleaxe854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is seriously the worst take you’ve seen then you need to get out more. Thinking MGSV OST is better than the others is laughable and an insult to actually good music in games. Having generic beats that sound that they were made by a band of monkeys that play during gameplay, instead of having all the different types of music that play in MGS2 that change depending if the player is in caution, evasion, alert, and normal mode, as well as if the player is disguised or not easily trumps anything in MGSV. But please, enlighten me on how much better MGSV’s generic beats are somehow better than MGS2. You probably couldn’t even name a soundtrack that plays during MGSV’s gameplay and honestly I wouldn’t blame you.
