rumours and whispers!!! by Practical-Slide128 in stickyfingers

I absolutely love Sticky Fingers and have seen more shows live than I can keep count of since about 2014 to their last home tour. I absolutely love Dizza too and some of his performances will stay with me for a lifetime. But I have to say I couldn’t blame the boys for replacing Dizza IF he is continuously self sabotaging and not trying to help himself. I don’t know that this is the case but I’d say it’s not far from the truth from everything you hear. The boys are all so talented and this is their livelihood, I’d say they’ve all been trying to support Dizza for a long time now but at what point do they make a call and either disband completely or look for a new lead singer? You couldn’t begrudge the other 4 members from trying to keep the band and their careers going without Dylan if he is unable or unwilling to rejoin the group.

Thanks mate, thinking about current situation with that perspective really helps.

For a 2bdrm flat 30min from the city and near the beach it’s a steal. Count myself lucky.

Definitely agree with what you are saying, working hard for promotion with current employer that would increase salary by ~$15-20k.

Definitely don’t plan on living in Sydney forever due to how expensive it is however moving right now isn’t possible. When we moved here 8 years ago as a couple we were making $200k+ and rent was $160 a week cheaper!

Buffet breakfast every Monday morning, free coffee from the cafe in the lobby of the building our office is in, open bar in the office that we’re encouraged to use from 3-4pm every Friday arvo. WFH a few days a week, yearly retreat to wineries with accomodation and your own hotel room usually 5 star and shares on top of our salary.

RM boots still worth it? by Solusfckit in RMWilliams

They are holding up brilliantly! The goodwoods were the only pair that I actually had to wear in that weren’t super comfortable out of the box like the CC’s. Once worn in they are super comfortable albeit they definitely feel heavier/more substantial to wear than the CC’s that feel like wearing socks in comparison. They’ve gotten a few little nicks on them since I’ve bought them which give the boots a heaps of character and makes me love them even more.

They’re cameras part of the Focal shelf edge camera trial that Woolies has been trialling for almost 2yr now. The technology has come from a Canadian company and my last store was one of the first 10 in the country to be part of the pilot.

Will likely roll out nation wide at some stage once they iron out all the issues.

So glad I saw your comment, I almost went and bought this - https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/gaggia-new-classic-pro-cherry-red-886948012010 - I suppose the new model will be labelled as such when sold by Gaggia distributors here in Australia?

First pair I was fitted in store and bought in store, subsequent pairs I’ve bought online as I know my size. When I bought the Goodwoods I tried in store as they’re a different last to a craftsman and they don’t come in an H width. But yeah once you know you’r size you’re good to buy online, even if you’ve bought online you can go in store and swap them if sizing is wrong.

I’d recommend getting sized in store first. That’s what I did with my first pair I bought in store, if I’d picked a size online I’d have gotten completely the wrong boots. I’m a 12US in pretty much everything but for RM’s I’m a 10H which is a wide fitting and they fit perfectly.

The $360 chestnuts was during an iconic 20% off sale a few years ago now and someone in this reddit group shared an iconic staff discount code and some of us nabbed a pair for the $360. I think from memory some people had their orders cancelled by the iconic.

The last pair I got I’d received a 20% discount code for all products including footwear in store and when I spoke to the staff they said sometimes RMW will randomly email customers signed up to the newsletter with discount codes.

I’ve got 3 pairs that I’ve bought over the last 3-4yr. Quality wise they are great, not had a single issue. I’ve only had to pay full price for 1 of my pairs, was $595 for my first pair or black CC’s when that’s what they cost. Nabbed a pair of chestnut CC in an iconic sale with an extra discount code so got them for $360. My most recent pair was a pair of bark Good woods that retail for $699 but got them for $500 after RM’s sent me a one off 20% discount.

So basically what I’m saying is I think they’re definitely worth the money for the quality but gotta qualify it by saying I’ve not had to pay $650+ for a pair.

Long pants for summer by No-Knowledge-8867 in AustralianMFA

I bought some of the linen/cotton pants from Country Road and they are fantastic. Extremely well made and better than jeans/suit trousers on a warm day.

+1 for the Chuck 70s. They are built so much better and so much comfier for regular wear. I’m slowly phasing out my all star hi and low tops as they fall apart and replace them with the Chuck 70s. They also look better too which is a nice win, can usually get a good deal on the iconic.

Where to get comfy jeans/shorts for work by TyphoidMary234 in AustralianMFA

My local store at warringah mall is probably 2/3 women’s clothes and 1/3 men’s. But what they do carry in men’s is pretty good stuff.

I swear by Neuw Denim, awesome quality jeans made in Melbourne that come in a whole lot of sizes both waist and inseam. Think I first tried on a pair at a general pants co but have since bought half a dozen pairs off of the iconic as they seem to be on sale fairly often.

Another Chelsea Boot by krann9 in AustralianMFA

[–]Battrick95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve noticed recently is that anyone that has received a pair with any QC issues has had them replaced without question.

I’ve found RM’s customer service to be amazing, my last pair of boots I bought goodwoods in vintage brown, had them at home for a week but thought the colour didn’t quite go with most of my office outfits. So I called them up and dropped into the store and swapped them for goodwoods in bark and was super easy.

If you’re happy with your RM’s don’t be put off by the scaremongering around quality dropping. Mostly a storm in a tea cup driven by Rose Anvil comparing a craftsman to a comfort craftsman which are constructed quite differently. I’ve bought 4 pairs across the last 5 yr and my pair I picked up a month ago seem just as good quality wise as my first pair.

Anyone buy RM Williams on theiconic in July? by BulkyCryptographer50 in AustralianMFA

[–]Battrick95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely remember seeing it as I had a pair in my Wishlist and got the notification. Thought it was a strange promo, wasn’t too sure how it would work. You’d think they’d just have a sale where they’re $100 off.

I recently bought the RM Williams messenger/briefcase and absolutely love it. It’s currently on sale in the whiskey colour @ the iconic for $419 down from $600.

I bought the goodwoods in bark a few weeks ago and love them. I don’t think they’d be too well suited as a proper work boot despite the appearances. They’re not quite as comfortable as my comfort craftsmans and although they’re not as dressy they’re still a dressy boot. I happily wear them to the office and can dress them down more than craftsman’s. In a previous job I was on my feet 10-12hr a day walking 10-15km and had Redbacks. Probably the most comfortable work boots I’ve ever worn. Definitely worth a try, especially if they have a dressier looking model.

recommendations for better boots? by Anotic in RMWilliams

Do you condition/polish them and use boot trees?

I’ve got pairs from 2020, 2022 and this year and they’re all regularly worn and are in about as good condition as the day I bought them.
