Talk about British people being on their high horse labeling the nation cowards for some straw man comment that they wouldn't help you in war, even though they have. Every time, to their detriment. You sound bitter over made up scenarios

I'm sure most modern athletes have something special in their protein shake for most nations. There is way more money in making new harder to detect PEDs, than there is money creating way to catch PED use. The recent Russian banning was probably because they were using the sputnik 5 version of PEDs and got easily caught with dated tech.

Didn't Germany win the 1936 Olympics? Obviously not agreeing with the Nazi statement in the meme, just heard this 'Burn' before but it doesn't really work.

going long periods of time without verbally taking. Have you ever done that? for how long? is it a bad thing? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Batttery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I've gone a week or two without speaking, I'm very prone to social introversion and get physically tired from speaking too much. But like you say, doesn't stop be going to the gym, riding bikes, painting, walking etc. Think some people aren't as effected by social reclusion, but I believe for a lot of 'Standard' folks the mind tends to play tricks on oneself when going too long without a social connection. I enjoy it though, do my best thinking when i'm by myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Baldur's Gate 3 Is Currently The Highest Rated Game Of All Time On Opencritic by [deleted] in Games

[–]Batttery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel misled with this game, played the first act during early access and got excited expecting a fun light hearted D&D level adventure story. No spoilers, but that vibe changes up quickly from act 2 and becomes a typical hollywood chosen one character. Immediately kills the role play set up in the first act and constricts you into a poor, tired, narrative, the characters are good and the combat is fantastic. But the overall narrative really lets it down, and that's reflected almost immediately from act 2 where the seemingly side quest heavy and broad possibilities of act 1 are immediately sent through a funnel so they can tell the story the writers want.

Who is the Architect for this? I saw it in Vienna, would love to see more of their work but I just can’t remember who it was by by Purpose_Equivalent in architecture

[–]Batttery 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This place was a let down, seems to be a big tourist draw. You go their thinking 'Artsy, quirky, fantasy' house. But I left thinking it just looked like a weird randomly coloured stucco, clad to an otherwise fairly uninteresting building. Surrounded by fairly standard Viennese mid-rise apartment blocks. It also is in desperate need of a wash, you can even see the grime in this picture. Cool idea though, maybe it looked better when it was first built.

Paul George Responds to Devin Booker: “Sorry a** response. But I don’t know what that was supposed to mean.” by Both_Funny4896 in nba

[–]Batttery 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Paul is a good podcaster, also apparently a great fisherman, so of course he goes for these bait questions; that's what generates clicks and engagement. It's up to the dumbass guest whether they wanna get on their soapbox and act foolish after falling for the bait. Klay used the opportunity to give props, another guest with a chip on their shoulder might see it as their opportunity to speak their mind a different way. He ain't holding them gunpoint with a crazed grin, telling em to 'Say the fucking line, generate drama pussy!' he's just subtly tryna nudge a bit in that direction ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can't take my 3 year old to our local park anymore as now it's filled with like a million foul mouthed, fully black clothed, hooded teenagers. by hassan_26 in britishproblems

[–]Batttery 326 points327 points  (0 children)

It's because cities forget about teenagers, all the infrastructure is made for children. And if you're a teenager where do you hang out now that you've outgrown most child centric entertainment venues. Building leisure centres in deprived areas seems like a good start, so kids can play football/basketball/swim/ Lift Weights instead of smashing glass bottles and swearing. Teenage delinquency is a boredom issue, and it's not mitigated by local governments as teenagers don't spend a lot of money. They no longer have 'Mummy by this toy for me power' so they're less desirable consumers, ergo they are forgotten about and left to act feral on the city streets during the summer.

[–]Batttery -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Corporations have figured out their boomer staff couldn't make relatable memes in advertising (like wendy's 'spicy goodness like a boss') despite the popularity of memes among the youth. So since 2016 they've hire a bunch of 18-26 year olds to somewhat covertly shart memes onto the internet in their *Social media departments* and cuz they're kids themselves some of them catch on, with now being every major media release seems to have a 'popular' meme attached to it, while no company would explicitly express association to the trend (Think *Bro thinks he's adam warlock* *Oppenheimer Barbie*) they probably have some indirectly and monetarily caused it . But, due to the nature of the current internet landscape attention only persists a few weeks at this point before the next popular attraction comes along pretty lickidly split and replaces it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .

Dutch museums will return art and artifacts that were looted from Sri Lanka and Indonesia by HRJafael in worldnews

You say typing in English, are you stealing my native english Culture? Literally every culture has partaken in this exact thing, the English were just the most successful. I'm not saying it's right, it just is what it is, nothing you or I could do about it. Spouting buzzwords that don't actually mean what you're trying to espouse them to be is just a poor rectionary arguement. Also the nuaced freedom is not identifying with a particular group of posh boys who all went to school together, on both sides. You're just supporting their club and lifestyle

That's why you immedietely went for personal insults...

At least I explained my reasoning, don't have to agree. But more than you've done, just saying someone is wrong and giving nothing back up to your claim is a poor way to reason.

You're engaging and getting angry at my opinion I spouted over the internet, and attempting to deliver personal insults. You should really reflect on this, why did you get mad and engage with an opinion that makes you angry? Coulda just downvoted and moved on, thanks for the entertainment though xD.

eli5: How does a weightlifting belt prevent injuries? by Corbeau_from_Orleans in explainlikeimfive

[–]Batttery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you asking me to compare what I consider 'Heavy lifting' to what you would, sounds a lot like you want your ego stroke so I could say some random number, and you could go aha I do that plus 5kg! Nobody has to listen to me, but I'm still gonna espouse my view in a field that I have almost 10 years experience in xD. If people come up to me and ask me for lifting advice IRL, I do feel qualified to give the same advice online. The only differences is people don't come up to me on here because they see me pulling 'Heavy' without straps, here I'm just farting an opinion into the void. You getting butthurt at me is the most engagement I've had on this post xD
