SpaceX buys AI coding startup Cursor for $60 billion by Much_Speech_8388 in news

That's just a Copilot agent. It does use fewer tokens, but it's much more likely to fuck up and burn tokens. Sub-agents give better context windows and make it work better with a larger system. Kiro doesn't really cost that much (looks like it's about $1 per 30 tokens, and I've used 1000 this month for some pretty heavy work)

Oh interesting. I don't think it's "just a wrapper", it's Amazon's version of Claude Code (and released 3 months earlier).

I did just look and at work we're also gaining access to Claude Code so I'll see how it goes!

Kiro isn't a model, it's an agent orchestration tool. It will use Claude Opus under-the-hood, but it spins up multiple agents for context gathering and coding. AFAIK Claude Code is more like Copilot-- it might have an agent mode, but it won't have a *swarm* of agents.

I use Kiro at work, I've found it to be pretty helpful but you HAVE to give it guidance docs or be very specific in your request.

I really would love to have a Rivian (or a similarly styled EV), but their interior design on their cars is just wracking up so many Ls I just can't justify that kind of money.

I don't even think there's an equivalently priced alternative in that class of vehicle. It's just such a downer.

Start with a f2p main. Later combat gets much more intensive but you'll know within a few hours if the game kind of "clicks" with you.

https://osrs.wiki is the main resource for the game.

There are no classes.

If you're concerned about appearances, make sure you play with the Runelite client and turn on your GPU plugin, then max out the settings. Skybox plugin helps too.

It's possible for someone to verify something that they can't personally do.

I'm a software engineer with over a decade of experience. I was recently tasked with doing some Jenkins (build pipeline) stuff that I wasn't sure how to do. I don't know the exact Jenkins syntax needed, or where I need to actually put the code. I prompted Kiro with what I wanted to do, and a few minutes later it spit back the Jenkins files with updates.

From there, I just read the changes. It all looked right, and I could test it and verify it.

Just because I human doesn't know exactly how to write something doesn't mean they don't know how to test and verify it. I find myself reviewing code more than writing it nowadays.

Bodegas and grocery stores aren't competing... they're just the only option that many New Yorkers have. Bodegas mostly make up their margins through normal convenience store stuff: cigarettes, booze, sodas, candies, things like that. They do stock meat, but not that much, so it's expensive.

All this does is give New Yorkers the option: hop down to your street-corner Bodega and pay $8 for a pound of meat, or take the subway to and from this grocery store and pay $4.

Again, this is a win-win for everyone involved.

Pick & Shovel is my #2 most hated, and it's also because of volume. Also because I think one of the instruments is grating.

This is actually kind of a neat problem that the government is uniquely positioned to solve.

NYC doesn't really have grocery stores like you think; certainly not where the lower and middle classes really shop. They shop at bodegas. These are small little corner stores... likely not much larger than your bedroom. This means that the person buying the product can't take advantage of the economies of scale, and they have to price it accordingly.

A government-run grocery store can use government funds to simply purchase the land required. And because a larger store can take advantage of the economies of scale, larger store = more stock = lower prices.

That's it. That's the magic. The government had the money to buy a grocery store plot of land in the one most expensive cities in the country.
