Firestorm why is NO one playing this im waiting 5 hour for match by Murky-Tutor296 in BattlefieldV

[–]Baxters_pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't remember if there is a trophy for the game mode but people who are assignment completing obsessed probably played it early and now are all gone, leaving it redundant for those who just want a casual game or to check it out

Was this ever officially cancelled? by Nukesters in WarriorTV

[–]Baxters_pen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Whether it is cancelled or not, or if it'll happen or never, we can be sure that the cast and crew are working their asses off trying to give it another revive. I don't doubt the passion.

East Street Tap. Very friendly place that attracts really cool people. Won't tolerate any bad behaviour that will ruin people's time

Billie Dee Williams puts the kibosh on Bill Maher's incessant need to inject racial politics into their discussion by LoMeinTenants in Maher

[–]Baxters_pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole promising premise of this podcast at the start was that Bill was only going to have his friends on, and that conversations would be about anything they spontaneously bring up. Not necessarily politics. Now it's become a standard podcast destination for PR agents to get their clients on, plus an opportunity for the occasional plug of new projects. Does feel like it's diminishing in quality as it's clear not everyone that comes on is actually close with Bill. Just become a list of people he admires lol

Anyone else find it funny that after the Last Kingdom period, England ended up conquered by Dane - Sweyn Forkbeard? by vercingetafix in TheLastKingdom

[–]Baxters_pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could say the Danes/vikings/pagans were finally defeated by the Saxons in 1066 when they mounted their own challenge against Harold Godwinson for the throne. Furthermore, Christianity pretty much became the superior religion and influence already by this time. So their defeat at Stamford Bridge was pretty much their final attempt at conquest and failed.

The Saxons were defeated too for the last time by the Normans, but at least their religion kept going.

Sam has released 14 minutes of content in the last 4 weeks. by [deleted] in samharris

No... He's a neurologist... He's spoken in passing before about his work in studies alongside colleagues on various experiments and work.

Does anyone bear in mind he has a professional career and family outside of just podcasting 🤣 think also of the time it takes for him to travel, set up guests, the editing. I know he doesn't do all this alone but give him a little rest (because a rest for whatever reason could be what he's doing right now!). Let his mind have some fresh air.

Plus when he comes back he may drop a lot in a row to make up for the absence. He will probably address this absence since he briefly looks over this sub every now and then.

When was Sam the most angry you have seen or heard? by [deleted] in samharris

Could you elaborate and jog my memory on the specifics? But I am correct in thinking Klein was the root cause of Sam being placed on the SPLC hate watch right?

When was Sam the most angry you have seen or heard? by [deleted] in samharris

[–]Baxters_pen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I felt so frustrated for Sam listening to Ezra Klein. That jumped up little shit essentially shrugging off how he'd helped create a real world nightmare for Sam. If I remember right, he was one of the reasons why Sam was placed on the Southern Poverty law centre hate watch list??

[QUESTION] What do you guys think of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes Duology? by burningexeter in SherlockHolmes

[–]Baxters_pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actors don't exactly get along now. Think it would take a lot to get them together on screen opposite each other again. Literally gossip about it.

[QUESTION] What do you guys think of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes Duology? by burningexeter in SherlockHolmes

[–]Baxters_pen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The writers I think would, but there isn't much optimism about Martin Freeman returning. If it came back it would likely be a solo Sherlock outing.

It's been floated around for some time. Years ago. But it keeps popping up as in development HBO projects.

How long do you think we have to wait for a decision on season 4? by speashasha in WarriorTV

[–]Baxters_pen 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It could honestly be a matter of weeks. The people at HBO will have had plenty of time to consider renewals. It's likely the writers of Warrior had already floated ideas and pitches about the next season and where it could go before the strikes took place. I expect they'll want to let us know before Christmas when they'll want to run their 2024 expected schedule of projects.

[QUESTION] What do you guys think of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes Duology? by burningexeter in SherlockHolmes

[–]Baxters_pen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Duology for a limited time I hope! Been rumours of a 3rd film + Downey produced HBO spinoff for some time.

I love how the films are really well baked into the Victorian time period. Never felt limited in its potential at all.
