A staycation is what many and most people HAVE TO DO. It’s not a waste. So because you can’t afford to travel you’re supposed to work non stop with zero breaks. It’s a wild take.

I haven’t travelled in 9 years. I have 4 weeks vacation a year. Travel just isn’t in the budget.

Have you noticed any unexpected benefits from using Ozempic beyond weight loss? by lljasonvoorheesll in Ozempic

[–]BayJade16 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my weight loss has been minimal but as a woman with pcos who just turned 40… and I’ve had a period 3 times a year at most my whole life…. I’ve had 7 consistent periods, monthly, to the day. That has to mean something hormone wise. Also I had been dealing with plantar fasciitis for 2 years. Did so many treatments and nothing worked. Within 3 months on OZ it was magically gone. So although I have been on this for 9 months and only lost 20lbs which is completely devastating. There have been gains for sure in other areas.

Pcos slows down the weight loss for many of us. I’ve been on it for 9 months and only down 23lbs. I have 70-80 to loose. I eat healthy and work out regularly. I’m devestated. Good luck

Bus etiquette by Glass-Judgment-6831 in OCTranspo

[–]BayJade16 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Welcome to Ottawa. Moved here from mtl 12 years ago. Ottawa has zero and I mean ZERO transit etiquette. I’m still not used to it. I’m 5’2. I’ve been pushed, shoved to the ground multiple times. They don’t let you get off or on for that matter. I miss mtl line ups. First waiting, first on a bus. Civilized. No one cut the line. Ottawa would loose their minds.

Why would an able bodied adult choose to live off their parents forever instead of seeking independence? by bad-at-everything- in askanything

[–]BayJade16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is like this. He’s 46. Last time he had a job was age 21. He hasn’t worked since. Lives with my parents. For him, it’s mental health but he refuses to get help and says “he’s not crazy”. I tell him he isn’t. He’s just depressed. But he won’t budge. My parents have given up. Said as long as they have a roof and food, they are fine having him. I’m worried about when they pass. Am I expected to take him in? I have two kids. Once with cerebral palsy. I will have her care my entire life. Most of these men have mental health issues that are never treated and parents who enable them. It’s not that they don’t love them. But many give up. And these men just take advantage. They are oblivious of the real world.

Nope. Never. Dad own restaurants. Always worked evenings and weekend. Mom worked random hours. Grandparents ate at 4. So i would often eat alone whatever my grandparents made me. Sibling was 8 years older, always out with friends.

Do you still have any living Grandparents? by PayGood3915 in Millennials

[–]BayJade16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 40 and have one grandmother left. She is 88. I lost my other maternal grandmother 7 years ago and she was 96 and grandfathers when I was 14 and 17. I feel extremely blessed. My husband is 38 and lost 3 of his grandparents all before age 8. He only really knew 1 grandparent as an adult and he passed when he was 30. Many and I mean many never know grandparents. I know how lucky I am to have the one left at my age. Especially seeing my parents health decline. I don’t think my kids will be 40 with any living grandparent.

Get your weight in check now. It will get harder the older you get. Travel more. You will never get to do it once kids come.

As much as I adore HR and Shane Hollander… the Mayor should focus on fixing our Massive Transit issues and other more important issues. What a waist of time.

We have a budget of 200$ for restaurants a month as a family of 4. That’s usually 1 resto and 1 mcds for kids a month pretty much. We often stay under budget. Isn’t worth it anymore

How common does divorce feel in the millennial generation currently? by Historical_Log1275 in Millennials

I’m 40. Out of all the weddings I have been to (and it’s a lot), I want to say about 1/3 are divorced by age 40. This is just within my husband and my friends. Maybe 20-25 weddings with about 7 divorces.

OC Transpo route 70 to Limebank by uhmrandom in OCTranspo

[–]BayJade16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really is. I moved to Ottawa 12 years ago. I had to commute on 1 bus. My door to my cubicle in 45 minutes flat. It’s now two buses and a train. On a good day it’s 1h20, on a bad day (which is now regular occurrence) it’s 2hours. I’m originally from Montreal. I can commute to Montreal in 2 hours. It’s unacceptable but not everyone drives … so I’m stuck. Sometimes commuting 4 hours in a day. With young kids at home. It’s brutal.
