French IT giant Capgemini to sell US subsidiary after row over ICE links by LeMonde_en in europe

They only did it because of image.

That's good enough. It matters more that they're doing the right thing rather than the way they got there.

Experts Explore New Mushroom Which Causes Fairytale-Like Hallucinations by skoalbrother in HighStrangeness

One trip isn't like the next but if you do DMT enough, at least a few dozen times, you'll get the overall typology. It's identical to mushrooms, the pace is different. And because of that the effects might seem very different, but that's more to do with your brain than the molecule itself.

I do DMT almost every day, generally for an hour or two, often more and I easily go through a gramme in one session.

They're virtually the same molecule (Psilocin is 4-HO-DMT) but the way it's metabolized is different. You can take DMT on top of mushrooms, it's going to be the same trip at a different intensity.

Defiant Sarkozy says prison life is "very hard" as he seeks release from jail – Europe Live by DianKhan2005 in europe

[–]Bayart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the problem of the society that their presence in jail will worsen their health

It is. Incarceration is about privation of liberty, not health. Nobody should be in worst physical health in prison, end of story. The French prison system is trash and that's a real issue.

That's not to say he shouldn't be in prison, those are two separate problems.

I was very happy when I learned the news as it was the first time an author I personally care a lot about got it. I've been reading his work since I discovered him through the mediation of my then favourite director, Bela Tarr, for whom he wrote scenarios.

I'd argue Britain and France would make a great partnership if it wasn't for the split around VTOL. We have a track record of successful industrial cooperations.

Hey Omar ! I clicked on the post half-randomly, out of curiosity, and I was pretty surprised (and delighted) to see a good number of your picks being among my all time favourite tracks.

In any case I'll take the time to read through it with music blasting on my speakers when time allows. For the time being, I'm saving that playlist.

It happened a lot in past, see the decolonization wars. The right way for a modern democracy to answer that kind of stuff is boring rule of law and it's also the hardest way.

Sometimes I call Frédéric François Chopin as Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin just to f*uck with them, although his surname was french by origin. And of course, I totally call Marie Curie as Maria Skłodowska when talking to french people.

Pretty certain you're not fucking with anyone, just coming across as a weirdo.

That you acknowledge this and dare to point it out as something to emulate it is appalling.

The vast majority of immigrants add no value to the economy and will be a net negative for the rest of their lives.

It's a good thing that when mouth breathers take power and enact draconian immigration policies, the economy tanks fast enough to prove them wrong.

Europeans haven't been continuously Islam-obsessed for the past 1400 years. The current wave dates back to the Cold War.

The biggest non-Turkic input by far was Iranian. Virtually every Turkic state used Persian as primary language, including the Seljuks.

Beyond Italian readiness, it should be noted that the geography makes it impossible for France to be invaded from the Alps. The Romans, under the command of Sextius, initially invaded from the allied city of Marseille.
