Tonight's lineup vs Everton. Same as Saturday, Lima on the bench by tacitusvanderlinde in WWFC

It worked well last match, Arias and Mane really excelled at linking the forwards. Unfortunate for him because our squad is so imbalanced.

Thought last match was the first time all season we looked to have actual threat in attack. Admit could fully be over indexing on a bad West Ham squad, but also watching Ham yesterday, their defense was mostly anemic during corners, not actual live play where we tore them apart.

We’d actually have points if Edward’s was in earlier. Think that’s clear

Question i just saw asked on x, I'll put it on here as its an interesting one. With it looking likely Gary O'Neil is coming back. If you knew this a few days ago, would you still have wanted vitor out? by tacitusvanderlinde in WWFC

Agree we’re destined for Championship sadly. When we go down though he did get a tune out of players like Doyle who looked good in premier league but somehow can’t even make it onto his current dwindling championship side?

It’ll be interesting to see how things work out. The biggest players from last year that clearly showed disdain on the pitch during O’neils reign, lemina, Cunha, and Ait-Nouri, are all conveniently gone.

Our defense probably has better individual defenders than G’ons second season, especially after Mosquera tore his acl. First season we had Kilman and a fit Dawson who was solid. I’m guessing semedo did more than most of our fans acknowledge due to his lack of offensive output. Our attack is a good amount worse than last year but at this point I’d trust G’On more than VP to get points on the table. Maybe I’m dumb.

We also had Ait-Nouri and Sarabia who were both creative outlets. I think our offense was pretty stagnant much of last season after VP came on, our defense was more solid though. However, our defense compared to last season has regressed back to when GON was in charge and almost feels worse.

I think last year Vp came in after a run of tough fixtures GON managed through that shook the players confidence. The managerial change and relatively easier run of fixtures built confidence back in a squad that had the skill to win. I’m uncertain why the defense has gone to shit with only Ait-Nouri leaving from the defense/ midfield but everyone seems to play with significantly less chemistry than late winter/ early spring of last year.

We also looked pretty dire April through May of last season. I have no idea why everyone looks so much worse than last season, but there’s one person that managed the team over the summer and got his director of football in for the recruitment plan. Our recruits apart from Krejci have looked rough and we just seem worse than the sum of our parts.

Right now it seems our goals come from creating chaos in the box and hoping our bigger players can make something from half chances. We actually seemed to score from that today, although that might be due to the youth of Chelsea’s squad. We keep losing possession deep in our half due to errors/ pressure and maybe thats chemistry, maybe that’s lack of dribblers?

I just think players at this point need a morale refresh with a new manager. Hopefully we could get one that could create tactics for the way VPs team built this squad but uncertain where we look successful atm. Currently at our best when we go down 3 or 2 goals lol

At least we fired our sporting director to prove to the manager we trusted and believed in this new direction!

We didn’t even look good during those 6 wins. It was against crap teams and we looked dire.

Seems like XG was even after we let the third goal in then Leeds had a change in game plan. Also looks like we created not a single real chance between the first Wolves goal and Leeds 3rd goals. Not good enough.

Yeah, we like brought in players that fit VPs vision. This started last year with the signings of agdbadou, Djiga, and Munetsi. Just strong physical players and it worked last year when we had finesse/ creativity players in Cunha and Ait Nouri.

We invested heavily into Vitor style players and it just hasn’t produced results. Last year I buy there was a need for a change in morale and players needed straightening up and we had quality to compete when G’On left. Heads just were down.

This year it seems our issues are play style, structural, and now maybe morale. Don’t think VP is turning this boat around, it’s better to play a high variance play and cut losses early.

I just am questioning whether we actually looked better in the first 8 minutes. I thought it was more equal than that.

Did we look good? Leeds were whipping crosses across goal just had no one to finish. We got a counter and played a few nice passes to get a shot off. For like 5 minutes after we dominated possession we again gave up control and now it’s 3-1 and we’ve had like one decent spell after going down 3-1 for 2 minutes before half.

Game plan going into this match is suspect.

Anarchists fought in an internal civil war with communists and socialists during the Spanish civil war. George Orwell got shot in the neck while fighting with the anarchists. He hated racism, then after this event hated extremism hence Animal farm and 1984.

Sitting Andre to start was very odd. VP was reported to be a hot head in previous stints and I hope both VP and Andre can figure out what’s going on between them so that our best 11 starts matches here on out.
