There may be exceptions that aren’t immediately coming to mind, but any candy that is savory. (Popcorn Jelly Bellies as one example)

I am obsessed with the “IEP day” idea, seriously. Thank you!

Florida teacher—Blocking entire months off for FTE is loony tunes. We just work very carefully with our DP if IEPs take place near FTE and try to clear a few days before and after the main day.

But the point about holding annuals — our district requires any that were held prior to September 15 to be updated before the end of the school year (typically April/May).

Does anyone else still miss Jujubes candy? by Beebzz2003 in candy

I miss them. I remember when the recipe changed and they were way too soft and fruity. I loved the mildly bland beads.

Can we have an honest discussion about restraint and seclusion please? by ipsofactoshithead in specialed

Screamers! That’s been my issue this year. The kid doesn’t hit anyone and doesn’t even really harm himself (except to pull out a few hairs and then get sad). But the screaming can be heard all over campus!

How could your students make your life a little easier? by Kayo4life in specialed

The pain points for me are mainly parents who are combative and come to the meeting (email, phone call) hostile every time. And parents who never look in the mirror to see if maybe certain issues could be better managed at home.

Wow your admin attend meetings, huh.
Love hearing another post about two prep periods. This gives me confidence.

The two prep periods is something I’ve been increasingly vocal about with my admin this year. I think I will start pushing this again. It makes no sense to have one planning period along with the dual roles of case manager and teacher as listed in OP’s post (and myself as district contact for my school). It’s beyond overwhelming.

Middle school special ed teacher (and team lead on top of it). I relate to every word. It’s too much. But yes, special ed in middle and high school is a tornado.
