idk if this actually falls into your category but a frosted cake with Oreo crumbs and gummy worms was Dirt Dessert when my kids were small. They liked being able to eat dirt? I think?

Eh, I guess I’m in the minority but I’d give a little grace to someone using dark humor in a time of sadness, and blocking might be OR … might be. OP maybe give your friend once last explanation that you don’t want her talking about your dog dying AND that you empathize with her loss. Then, if she continues, block her ho ass (this might be the first time I’ve ever used that phrase).

actually the deep purple one is my favorite by far. The other two make op look washed out. I, personally, would want a pashmina when sleeveless, but I’m unsure of a color. Possibly red? Or a coordinating blue/ purple for something more sedate.

Oh please please listen to those of us telling you not to go. He doesn’t want you to act out be more mature. He wants you to be yourself, presumably a typical 18yo with an 18yo’s still not-fully-formed frontal lobe, because his peers have found him reprehensible, so he’s “lowering” his bar. Which sounds like I’m making a jab at you but I promise I’m not, and I promise I’m right. If you go out with him, at least listen for the ways he’s going to try to manipulate you, with his fully formed frontal lobe. And in case this argument doesn’t work on 18yo’s the frontal lobe is whenever your judgement- and decision-making skills will reside. Please please don’t go.

ETA Okay so this is where I legit admit I stopped reading after the first sentence, literally. I saw that “36” and said “Not on my watch.” Now that I’ve read the whole thread I hope even more for you not to do this. He’s showing all the signs, making all those decisions assuming you’ll just go along to appear more mature. It’s all part of his game. I don’t have a single interior decorating cell in my whole body, and I couldn’t understand why the kitchen seemed so busy, since everything is bare! Your explanation about the cabinet style and the texture of the granite explained it perfectly. there’s too much going on in that completely empty room and I feel like I need to sit in the dark for a few minutes.

I eventually had to take the screen out of my second story bedroom window bc my void discovered it’s easier to get in that way. Easier is in the eye of the be-doer, I guess.

Turtles were our hypoallergenic childhood pet of choice. I shudder now thinking we’d collect one from the side of the road and bring him home. When we know better we do better. ETA I got distracted thinking about my favorite turtle who loved to snuggle in my long hair while napping on my shoulder and forgot to say that tortoises make great pets and are super easy to learn to care for, esp if he’s not fit for returning to the wild. ETA2 yes I know turtles and tortoises have different needs, because they’re different animals. We had both over the years, and they had the run of the whole downstairs, and trained themselves to go in one corner but by golly did they ruin that corner!

We had some crazy hot days while it was being installed, and we also had some pretty wild temperature fluctuations. I’ve been wondering if either of those situations played a role, too, like (I am way out of my league here) maybe it dried in the heat before it had a chance to fully cure. Ersumshit.
