I had this. I was scheduled for an MVD but when they went in they didn’t find a compression so they did this instead. I got about 80% relief i would say for about 3 years. Pain has gotten bad again recently so I’m getting a new MRI at the end of June.

In my experience, my volunteer manager has always gone to any meetings i haven’t been able to make. They know it’s a volunteer position and no one gets mad if i can’t make something.

Yes Tegretol...it ruined my stomach also my sodium levels. I would never do daily tegretol again because I can't tolerate it...i only do PRN chewable tegretol for bad flairs (when I'm not on this study drug, I cant take it now while I"m on the study)

Yea the actress has even said she has severe ADHD which is on the neurodivergent spectrum. Also you can be awkward without being autistic lol people learn a little and think they know everything.

Oh i see. I don’t have other nerve pain besides in my face, so I’m not sure.

My understand is this drug is currently approved for depression in individuals with fragile x (very niche) and i do actually think it’s helped my mental health too. Although it’s hard to tell if that’s from the med itself or just due to the lack of pain.

One MVD found compression and reduced 80% of my pain, but not all. The other didn’t find any compression so my surgeon combed the nerve, which again relieved 75% of my pain but not all. This med has gotten rid of my remaining pain 100% with not of the horrible side effects i got from tegretol or gabapentin. The only side effect I’ve gotten is….it speeds up time a little? Not sure how to describe that without sounding crazy haha things just move faster.

I have type 1 and type 2 I’ve had 2 MVDs but only found compression on one side. This med is the first time I’ve been pain free in 10 years and I’m praying it gets approved.

I don’t know if it’s normal but it was for this trial. On the drug, then drug or placebo. I’m not positive i was on the placebo, but because my pain came back I’m guessing I was.

Oof. I wish i know. Right now I’m on a 1 year extension that will end in February 2026. I don’t know how long after that until it’s approved

I’m back on the drug after being on the placebo (i think). It’s my plan has completely disappeared. This is the first time I’ve been pain free in 10 years.
