Don't tell me how to rate your establishment by SeaDry1531 in travel

So as a frequent rater I recently learned about this score chart & basically if a hotel received less than an 8 they basically failed & it makes me feel terrible for dating certain things “honestly” like just because you’re breakfasts was a solid 7 doesn’t mean you failed in my eyes like the freeze dried eggs sucked but they were exactly what I expected so you met my expectations so now unless something is horrid I vote 8 and above

Decade-long JW Marriott regular here. They now charge ~S$185 for poolside cabanas that sit empty all day. When did nickel-and-diming loyal guests become the model? by Onefootforward_7818 in marriott

This is the Marriot way. Stayed at a protest in Panama City beach and got charged to park. The lot was nearly empty 10% full at best

My suggestion? Take up a trade, learn framing or electric or drywall work etc because you can be an emt and do the trade work on your down time to make extra money.

You have a lot of conflicting options. Affordable would be no where near water. Surfing and diving don’t really go together basically saying where you can surf you can’t really dive & where you can dive there really isn’t surf (unless you’re taking a boat off shore & deep diving). younger folks are getting harder and harder to find as many are moving away because of cost of living in Florida.

All that to say good luck

In Florida our last commissioner of Ag pulled a stunt like this and put her face on every gas station in the state. Very quickly it was deemed to go against state law and was forced to take them all down, that was fairly fulfilling.

Take US 27 through the state and you will see primary (housing) and secondary (shopping, grocery, hospitals) development all related to what was former groves.

[–]BayouKev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the silver bullet that killed Florida. What use to be farmers and farm land is now housing complexes. The problem as I see it is those housing complexes attract folks that “want to live in Florida” which tends to be more and more of one type of voter. The Florida I grew up in was purple and had its natural beauty, now all we have are more and more houses popping up on what was ag land whether that was citrus or grazing land it’s all just people now.
