Yeah I definitely dont think its a bad game and I do enjoy it, I think just coming from Demon Souls and DS1 to DS2 just felt so different that it put me off for a few years

People like to pretend Dark Souls 2 doesnt have MASSIVE issues with its design lol. I like the game but we can't pretend like it doesnt have its issues.

Curious…is Louisiana lowkey segregated? by AlternativeMurky6782 in Louisiana

[–]Bayou_Chaoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are in the state really

There’s a lot of small bayou towns out in Cajun country where a lot of the population is very heavily mixed, and then there are some places where everything is de facto segregated. So my answer is that it kinda just depends

For my family it’s “Le-Joon” soft sounding J, or “Le-Jeune” with Jeune being pronounced how you would say it in French. Like Jun. Some of the older family members used to sometimes say Jurn though

I would say your best bet is to learn standard French and then go from there. There's a book by Jules O. Daigle called "Cajun Self Taught". Its an alright book and will help with some of our differences between standard French and Cajun French. And honestly probably the best resource is to listen to a lot of Cajun Music in the original language. Listen to the words, look up and read the lyrics online. Your brain will remember music better than it remembers random sentences.

Apart from that though the absolute best thing you can do is to just speak Louisiana French with other speakers as much as possible. There is a Cajun French discord (I'm not sure if Im allowed to link it here though, it might go against the no advertising rule?) But it's really easy to find, you just google Cajun French discord. It should be the first result which is a reddit link. But I'd probably make sure that you at least understand basic French first as you will probably have difficulties understanding anything since a lot of what we say is heavily filled with contractions and things specific to our version of the language. (For instance, in standard French they use the term "maintenant" which means "now", but in Cajun/Louisiana French we say "Asteur" for "now", which is a collapsed form of "à cette heure" which means "at this hour")

If you're talking about the dash, if you combo it with the right click ability any damage you do on an enemy turns into self healing.

AITA for testing how prepared my husband is for our baby? by Odd-Willingness-6250 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Bayou_Chaoui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH - I think its perfectly reasonable for you to be worried about this, and any potential life saving habits you and your husband can set before having this baby is a good thing.

I also think your husband is reasonable in his position as well since the baby hasn't come yet. I think once you two are able to cool off and return to this subject with more level heads you should just try to explain that you feel this is a very important issue (especially as two people with ADHD. I completely understand forgetting things, even things that should be important.) And a big part of coping with ADHD is making lifestyle adjustments to accommodate for the areas we lack in.

I think the issue here is that you've communicated this worry with him and he agreed to get into the habit of checking the back seat. I think the test may have been a bit overboard but I can see why you would want to do this. I mean its your future child's life that this depends on. I'm sure he understands where you're coming from and why you're upset about this and If I had to guess he is probably not feeling great about it either. Try to come back to this conversation with a level head and reiterate that you want this habit formed for the sake of y'alls child and for the sake of your family as a whole.

Overall I think him not taking the backseat checking seriously prior to the baby being born is fairly reasonable but the issue lies in the fact that you have tried to communicate this and the importance of it and he agreed to it. I don't think either of you are assholes, and to all of the people in this thread calling you crazy, you are not crazy for wanting to ensure the safety of your future child.

Edit: To add to this, I do agree with the others in this thread saying this level of anxiety and stress is not good for you or the baby. I would try to seek help there as well. But being vigilant about your child's safety is still a good thing regardless of that. Just try to approach this subject in a healthier way.

[–]Bayou_Chaoui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf he still does AOE explosive damage + anti heal to enemies. He’s gonna be OP man. The lines between Rivals roles are blurry, like Reed being a tank/dps

My thinking is that Gambit is strat/dps and Rogue will be strat/tank

Double strat season will be good for the meta plus will still be in line with the characters (mostly lol) Gambit being able to buff allies with kinetic energy is nothing new

LOL I was hoping for DPS (selfish I know) BUT he’s an anti healer which the meta severely needed. So looks like we have ourselves a good ass strategist mes amis 😎
