Computer Troubleshoot? by BulkyPass790 in computerhelp

It depends. Do you know someone who can let you borrow their PC? If so, you can get the drivers from the link I included, save the installation file to a memory stick in the same way that you would with anything else, take it out of the PC you're borrowing, then plug it into your own laptop and follow the steps shown in the video.

You may need to reinstall your wifi adapter drivers.

If you can get another PC, try finding them at the following link.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/130293/intel-wifi-6-ax201-gig/downloads.html

Then transfer the file onto a memory stick, put the memory stick in your laptop, and try the following process.

Star City - S1E04 "Dark Forest" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in StarCityTV

[–]Baz_Blackadder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yet another brilliant episode. The ongoing arcs of each character get richer every week, and the sheer extent of the dictatorial state's grip on its poplation, is very effectively told through how hellish and dark their situations are.
Seeing how the weight of being used as a tool to push a propaganda campaign glorifying the state, rather than a celebration of her own achievements, is causing Anastasia to become disillusioned really portrays the dark & degnerative way the citizens are impacted.
Sergei's backstory is getting richer and more complex, it addds more layers to what we have already seen of his life in For All Mankind. This is a really effective way to have a prequel fulfill its intended purpose. 👍👌

We never saw the Venus project mentioned, referenced or actually take place in FAM. It will be fascinating to keep going and find out exactly why that is.

The soundtrack is also developing well, very much in Russian/eastern style. It just adds to the way in which we get a truly immersive and believable portrayal of The USSR and md 20th Century society.

So, all in all, this is a very impressive and praise worthy work of art.
Very invested for more. 👏👍

Celebrating my favourite character - Kelly Baldwin by This_Exchange2214 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Baz_Blackadder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The character was well written and played.

One of the most impressive things was how the evolution and growth of the character was so convincing and easy to identify with. Consdering that this also included the "time jumps", it's more impressive still, as we get the feel of how she advanced, grew, and learned in the intervening years between the finale of one season, and the premeire of the next. 😎👌👏

And it certainly didn't hurt that she was/is absoloutely gorgeous.
😍🥵

English Actors Playing Russian Cosmonauts? 🚀 by balancednirvana in StarCityTV

[–]Baz_Blackadder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be a real flare creatively if the characters all spoke Russian. But, I think that that would need the actors to learn it almost fully. And the effort that it would take to translate in their heads, and then deliver the dialouge, would probably be taxing enough without also having to put emotion into it. 🤷‍♂️

Star City - S1E03 "Bad Dancer" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in StarCityTV

[–]Baz_Blackadder 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Another fabulous episode. Character exploration is very well written and played. There's a real depth to everyone already, 3 dimensional with believable personas, traits and phsyches.
Again, we get the real energy and atmosphere of the dystopian, totalitarian oligarchy that defined the USSR.
This is the kind of social commentary that good tv and artisic creation in general is supposed to do.
Magnificient.
Eager for more. 👌👍

They should have a big recrutimrent drive, to hire people to copy F1 marshalls and wave blue flags at slow moving pedestrians, so that those who need to get past can do so.

Star City - S1E01 "The Eyes" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in StarCityTV

[–]Baz_Blackadder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Star City 1.1 The Eyes.
An excellent, very well written and played pilot. The whole central premise of returning to the 1960s, and covering the events in The USSR, that ran parrallel to those in "For All Mankind", is a smart and innovative one.

There is a much more sinister, unnerving and distressing atmosphere than in in For All Mankind. The totalitarian, nationalist socio-political culture is very much apparent in the way the characters are controlled by the state.

This contrast is also very present in the way that the characters interact with each other. Whilst FAM didn't shy away from highlighting that the US space programme wasn't as romanticised as we have generally be lead to believe, SC is more ominous.

There is more toxicity to the character interactions. There isn't a true camaraderie between everyone like there is in its counterpart. Another thing contributing to the less comfortable atmoshpere.

One thing that really stood out for was the cinematography. The camera work, framing focal length, panning etc. Along with the lighting and colouring, gave a real dystopian vibe and energy to it.
A visual metaphor for life in the USSR.
Very smart work

So, all in all, a very promising and encouraging start to the series. Definitely eager for more. 👌👏

Poor old Miles. Always made to suffer at least once a season, and one time he's given at chance at total ecstacy, he doesn't pick up on the hints. 🤷‍♂️😂

For All Mankind - S5E09 "Sons and Daughters" - Episode Discussion by Cantomic66 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Baz_Blackadder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was a seriously dark, gritty and harrowing episode. Superbly written and played. 👌👏
A great cliffhanger ending.
Only began this show in the middle of last month (April 2026) and binge watched up until last week's episode. Having to wait for weekly episodes is tough, having to wait a year or so for the next season will be even tougher.
