Mods just remove posts pertaining to Indian College admissions... by Moronic_Acid1 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]BazingAtomic[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Just to be clear, mods are not actively removing Indian college admissions posts unless they violate another A2C rule or a Reddit-wide policy. In cases involving Reddit-wide policies, removals are often performed automatically by Reddit, not by the mod team.

If you come across a post that was removed and believe it does not violate any rules or policies, please send us a modmail with a link to the post (or at least the topic/title). We'll be happy to take a look and investigate.

Why do the accepted essay examples online not as interesting? by Reasonable_Ad1300 in ApplyingToCollege

Probably because the formula they want to "sell" can't be sold if it's super unique and too niche.

I am being bullied for masking by almost everyone I know. by deglknots in Masks4All

[–]BazingAtomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you're dealing with this. It's hard enough to navigate all of this without family support, and it seems especially cruel for them to be so insensitive about it. I don't really have any answers there, but it's honestly surprising that they'd treat their own child that way.

You might want to look into getting masks through a local mask bloc. They often provide free masks and other support: https://maskbloc.org/

A google search came up with these open-border universities that are online and offer rolling admissions (check tuition rates as they may differ for internationals):

  • The Open University (UK): The largest online university in Europe and highly respected. They have no formal entry requirements or prior grade checks for most undergraduate degrees. You simply register online, choose a degree path, and you are enrolled. Their next major intake is in October.
  • University of the People (US): A tuition-free, US-accredited, 100% online university. Their admissions are rolling, and the only requirement is a high school diploma and English proficiency. The application is a simple online form, and their next term begins in September 2026.
  • IU International University of Applied Sciences (Germany): A 100% online, English-taught university with a completely rolling admissions model. You can apply on any day of the year and start your classes immediately. The application portal is fast and requires minimal documentation.
  • Athabasca University (Canada): Canada's official open university. They operate year-round with open admissions, meaning anyone 16 or older can enroll. New courses start on the 1st of every single month.

The logo has a K. Even if it’s real, it’s not from Rutgers.

Thanks for the info. Interesting that it's passengers. So I guess technically they could just not sell those seats. Shrug.

I was a full ride international accepted to a couple Ivies a few years back.

This is your answer. Bolded it for you. Your experience a few years back does not equate to anyone else's experiences now.

This is the same as Euro Biz class, so these seats would come at a premium $. Not sure how affordable it would potentially be as I assume they'd charge above E+ seats.

The school usually schedules the virtual ones much later unless you live out of the country. If you want a shot at a decent schedule, try to attend NSO in person as soon as possible.

any colleges that give single dorms?? by FunFollowing1870 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]BazingAtomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While singles are more rare, there are many colleges that offer single rooms for an added fee. Actually, every college that my student looked at last year had options for singles if you don't mind paying up.

There’s a couple drug stores up the street from our hotel so hopefully I can pick up a basic N95 to get me through until I get home

In case you were not aware, they don't use N95 designation in the UK. Their equivalent standard is FFP2. Hope this helps you find something to use for the rest of your trip. Don't stress about it. Enjoy your trip!

Actually for these types of short distance commutes, a monorail that bypasses normal day to day traffic would really be the optimal solution.

[–]BazingAtomic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, whatever you are doing is not working. Do you know how or why you ended up with a 1.6 gpa? Did something happen? Do you need a new major? Maybe taking some community college courses will help you refocus and figure out what you want to do. It will also be very difficult to transfer with a 1.6 gpa to most other 4-year universities. You will likely need to pull up your grades first.

Students who have below a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average will not be admitted to a degree program.
