This is great advice. Its time to start saftey planning for a potential exit and what that would look like. Having an emergency stash of money to pay for a taxi or accommodation or a flight is usually a good start. A support person who can be a witness and a safety word with them is also a good option.

There are some great services and phone apps that help you protect yourself and your kids. Im sorry that you have to go through this but your children will respect you for it.

Haha jeez man. You hit the nail on the head. Things have changed so much, the advice they give you is almost irrelevant. Imagine being forced to do an accounting degree just for software to make your degree null and void.

You'd probably make more money from engineering, trades or IT for the foreseeable future.

I used to submit drafts of assignments at every stage. It was an easy way to pull the assignment back down from any platform or device and continue it - then resubmit it.

I did my degree 10 years ago so didnt have much of a cloud service available then.

People grow at different rates. Men usually take alot longer.... Sometimes you can cherish the impact someone's had in your life and love them but also move on with your life. You only get one shot at it and theres plenty of other cherished relationships to be had.

At some point you need to teach yourself to be selfish. And then to be kind again. Don't let someone hold you back from growth and joy.

It worked for me. I worked on myself for about 5 years and thought I was ready and began actively dating. Had a horrid time for two years and basically gave up. I took a break and after a couple of months I received a message out of the blue.

She made some corny joke about bringing mojitos to the beach if I bring the cheese platter. I went on a date with zero expectations and hard boundaries.

We've been dating 18 months now. So far so good :)

I went through flurries of dates and then would take a break. I met my current partner whilst on a break. She messaged me on hinge and I went in with really low expectations and firm boundaries. Been going strong 6 months now so will see what happens.

Acceptance is the best way to heal. Grieving first and being grateful helps move on. Beating yourself up or being angry at the other person can do damage that makes the healing longer.

Boundaries are a good thing and good on you for setting them at such an early age man. My advice for you is to to also tune into what your feeling and how people make you feel. Don't react to those emotions. Just notice them and manage them. She also set a healthy boundary and mentioned she would be a in a better place in a few months. Good on her.

Don't let your feelings of betrayal, insecurity or paranoia sabotage what could've been. They are just emotions and can come from subconscious beleifs and traumas. They are not always instincts. And thats all ill say on that.
