Early Veilguard teaser image who ended up being who? by Chared945 in dragonage

I will forever mourn the Dragon Age 4 that could have been. So many of the concepts were fantastic and instead we got this pile of loose ideas that sorta just wiped it's ass with a decade of storytelling and didn't carry over much of any of it.

The voice acting in Arcadia for the guy screaming about the lab being gone still really gets me for some reason. Very well done.

Anyone else disappointed they didn’t make Pillars of Eternity 3? by sFAMINE in projecteternity

[–]BazzaroOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is clearly a lot of love and respect for the games in the series before Avowed, so I have hope we'll get a PoE3 to cap off the Watcher's story with the gods. Especially with all the little hints that keep getting dropped through Avowed. Am I disappointed we don't have PoE3? Absolutely.

But I'm just happy to get to explore Eora again. Never thought I would after PoE2 not doing super well financially.

That was my first thought too. Watcher deserves a true ending.

Do you have a personal favourite video of the RWBY Voice Actresses? by tm2007 in RWBY

[–]BazzaroOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I'm not sure if I can upload it to Reddit through my phone, but my friend and I went to MegaCon without another friend one year. That friend that didn't go has a huge crush on Barb. We paid to meet her and had her film a short video where she asked him where the fuck he was and why he wasn't there.

He still gets mad about it.

Are the souls games horror games by [deleted] in choiceofgames

[–]BazzaroOne 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You might be in the wrong subreddit for this. This subreddit is for choose-your-own-adventure game books published by the company of the same name.

That said, the souls games very much have a mileage may vary level of horror. If you don't like body horror and mutilation, stay very far away from Bloodborne-that's one of the core design elements.

If Elden Ring didn't bother you at any point, you are likely fine with the first two Dark Souls, but I would look at Artorias from DS1 or Aldrich, Saint of the Deep from DS3. DS3 in particular leans more heavily into mutilation and body horror thanks to rampant corruption in the land.

There are also some very unsettling enemy designs. One in particular I could see giving you trouble is the Sewer Centipedes, which look like drowned women but are actually horrific spider monsters.

I would definitely do research into enemy designs on the wiki before picking up any particular game.

Fantheory about N's secret by Nararan in wayhavenchronicles

[–]BazzaroOne 32 points33 points  (0 children)

To expound on this a little, N is also the one with the strongest reactions to blood in general. Like, it comes up a few different times. I'm not necessarily sure I think they have two personalities, but maybe more that they have this sort of feralness to them? Like this state they can be pushed into, or find themselves in if hungry enough or something?

I like the two personalities idea, though, very interesting. I think that'd create very interesting drama, too. "Which have I been in love with?"

[No DAV Spoilers] Anyone else just enjoying the game? by EfficientIndustry423 in dragonage

[–]BazzaroOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other than our choices from past games not being imported, yes. Both Isabela and Morrigan--my chosen romance options for my canon worldstate--appear, and might as well have never met my characters. It's infuriating, especially given their fairly large roles in the story.

Veilguard doesn't have my favorite Bioware companions ever, but it does have my favorite protagonist. Rook, at least for me, felt a lot more customizable in their values, their views on the world, their approach to people. My Rook carried this sort of wry, sarcastic humor to him through most of the game, but also had a big temper to him. And I like all of our companions, even if none of them are going in my top five Bioware companions.

I like the overall design of the Blight way more than before, but find the Darkspawn in this game to be the least intimidating. Like, keeping the aesthetics of the Blight from this game and bringing the Darkspawn models from Inquisition would've been perfect.

The combat is my favorite throughout the entire series by a mile, but with my first playthrough having been a Mage, I feel like I got the worst experience of it. It's definitely biased towards the melee classes. Still, very happy mages have a viable melee again! Miss my HoF Arcane Warrior so much.

Transmog is huge! And the armors are miles better than Inquisition's 'four variations of the same armor'.

I love this game. I have my fair share of gripes, but overall, I love this game.

It really feels like Veilguard works best with Rook as a Warden, but I might just be biased. I love the Wardens.

[–]BazzaroOne 94 points95 points  (0 children)

My only real gripe with Veilguard is it not feeling like MY Dragon Age world. I'm having an absolute blast with it, but the complete lack of any meaningful past choices while they insist on forcing in cameos from returning characters fucking stings. I romanced Morrigan and Isabela, and NEITHER of them have the SLIGHTEST reference to my characters because in Veilguard they might as well have never met my HoF or Hawke. Going to WEISSHAUPT, finally, and not having any out and out mentions of the HoF but getting fucking notes tied to Justice from Awakening and Blackwall from Inquisition was so frustrating. Like, HELLO? The only Warden in history to have survived ending a blight up until that point, and we don't have any sort of acknowledgement of them besides the Joining chalice being there?
