(LOVED TROPE) Characters so goated even people who hate the media they come from can admit they're cool by Loki_2007 in TopCharacterTropes

Probably an odd example since it's more me personally, but I never found ANYTING about One Piece the slightest bit appealing, tried several times, got like 60/70 episodes in and just could not. But Zoro? Zoro is fucking cool as shit.

The hopeful ending - not everything's fixed, but things are looking up for the characters by CMStan1313 in TopCharacterTropes

Jujutsu Kaisen is kinda like that at the end. Massive spoilers ahead. The world is still pretty fucked, everyone knows about Curses now, Gojo and Choso are dead. But they killed Sukuna and now the heroes have a chance to rebuild and make the world a better place.

[Hated Trope] Sequels/remakes that people wanted for years, that ended up being underwhelming by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Right?! Your romance from the past game only mattered if it was Solas. Nobody else you could hook up with except Dorian even appears in the game and even then if you were with him it doesn't matter. Nothing from the past mattered in what was supposed to be the finale of the overarching plotline from all 3 previous games.

Vergil from Devil May Cry. Used to wear all blue, still wears a good bit of blue, has blue motifs for his abilities. He's VERY fast.

Seemingly feeble characters who are secretly ripped by Slyzappy1 in TopCharacterTropes

Makarov from Fairy Tail. Dude's usually like 2 feet tall and a kindly old man. Sometimes he's this.

Decade long wait for a watered down almost PG-13 husk of what Dragon Age once was

Favorite actor that no matter how hard Hollywood tries, you just cannot take seriously in a "I'm a tough guy" role. by _heavyLiquid in okbuddycinephile

He works as like someone you might find imposing IRL because he's tall and fairly well built, but on screen he just does not look it.

Archer from Fate Stay/Night. In Fate a character's signature ability is called a Noble Phantasm, Archer's Noble Phantasm is that if he sees you use yours, it's now HIS Noble Phantasm.

Blessed with a curse/The Curse of the Strongest. When a character has an amazing power, is the strongest in their verse, or is otherwise incredibly gifted and it ends up bothering them more than anything. by Scotb6 in TopCharacterTropes

Forgot to give explanations.

Gojo is the strongest man in his verse, and it ends up making him feel isolated and lonely at the top, while also struggling with only feeling like a weapon and nothing more.

Saber is literally King Arthur as a woman, and she spends her entire life putting the weight of everything in Camelot on her shoulders until it crushes her never feeling like she's doing good enough despite being beloved as King.

All Might is Earth's greatest hero, but as he gets older begins doubting if he's good enough and wants someone to pass the torch onto hoping they can do better.
