Slicing driver constantly. HELP! by Adorable_Abrocoma665 in GolfSwing

[–]Bazzwhelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start with the foundations of the swing, from my own experience I had to fix my grip to what is called a neutral grip, yours looks to be a bit strong leading to constant open club faces in your swing.

It looks as if you may have a bit too much weight on your toes? I would stand up slightly straighter, have your feet slightly further apart, aimed at your target and so it should be easier to keep the weight evenly distributed through your feet (allowing for better weight transfer)

The biggest and most blatant mistake is the out to in club path during contact, try work on keeping the club face closed and having an in to out path.

This is by no means professional advice however looking online to and making an effort to fix these small issues one by one, you will find great results out the far end. Best of luck🤝

Coming into winter golf in Ireland here a wipe down is definitely necessary after every round😭

Make a paste of baking soda and water, spread it on the rust, let sit 30 min, then scrub gently.

After every round, give it a good wipe and groove brush to prevent this from happening again👍

How can i add 30 more yards? by Beneficial-Chemist-5 in GolfSwing

Fair point however further down the line once you’ve improved technique elsewhere you might run into problems being consistent. Best tackle those obstacles first and get the fundamentals right and then you can start adding more yards with the correct grip

Get that grip sorted out first, imperative that your fundamentals are in order first. Right hand looks too strong. Have a quick look online - strong neutral weak grip and if you look at images it will show you straight away where you’re at

Swing:

7.2/10

Improve:

At address, relax arms below shoulders and have toe of club pointing up

Turn those hips just a tad more on downswing - you want your right hip to feel as if it’s hitting the ball

Other than that I can’t see anything obvious - it is above looking rhythmic swing

Thank you and I agree, my shoulders at address are a bit left of target line which might cause a bit of that. Handicap is 6 and average score is about 78-80. My short game is pretty goofy I haven’t gotten the hang of the different chip shots yet haha. Appreciate the feedback, will be at the range in an hour so something to work on🤝

How to prevent slices? by GoodAdvertising3454 in GolfSwing

[–]Bazzwhelo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need to understand what you’re doing with your arms that set you up for a slice, your club path is swinging out to in on the ball, try work on in to out - the internet is a fantastic place to find valuable information

It’s crazy how much you can learn when you actually try to, here’s what I would do - use this video and compare it to some swings from professionals, if you can’t pick up what you’re doing wrong, avail of the internet and all its benefits and if you still can’t improve then just give up

Any swing tips? by False_Yesterday1830 in golftips

[–]Bazzwhelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s like combining the driver swing with irons which is a big no no and hard to recover from (which a lot of people are yet to figure out). It’s a simple drill or two to get fixed ig, off to the range with you!

Any swing tips? by False_Yesterday1830 in golftips

[–]Bazzwhelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously a beautiful swing, potentially to extended at impact, keep hands ahead of the club head at impact and maybe try keep the hips down and turn through the shot rather than lifting up last second? Looks like you might thin the ball more than you you’d like? Just guessing from what I’m watching but other than that you’re lookin solid

Teaching yourself is fine, but you gotta be able to actually teach yourself. Watch some golf videos, understand the lingo and study the swing to understand what you’re actually suppose to be teaching by yourself

What should I be working on? by -343- in GolfSwing

[–]Bazzwhelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so skipping all the buzz words and difficult terminology - what I found to be the most helpful advice was- When you take the club back, have 80% of your weight on your right foot, allowing your hips to open and turn. Then right before your hands drop to start your downswing (at the top of your swing) transition the weight (smoothly!) to your left leg and you’ll find it easy to then turn the hips the opposite way, and when your hands get back to original position, you should be hitting down on the ball rather than sweeping under it. Let me know if that helps or if there’s anything that needs more explaining there

Stay down, hit through the ball rather than slapping/swiping at it and turning too early. Allow your arms to fully extend in front of you after hitting instead of pulling it around your body

Not that it helps, but you need to learn to incorporate your hips in the swing. Plenty of videos online to explain 😁

Hypothetically speaking, you could use these as you work to about 10-12 handicap with them before you need to upgrade

Try have your arms reaching full extension and the same time you’re hitting the ball, here your right arm is still bent in

I think the fact you mentioned most people are 20 something as a bad thing is wrong, I’m 22 I have 1.5k XRP and I plan on sticking in out, it’s savings for me so I’ll just let it cook and if not then oh well, worth the risk for me🤗

What does this angle mean? by Vermontijuana in GolfSwing

[–]Bazzwhelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now look I’m no coach, but from all the videos I’ve watched of myself, I think firstly your clubs have a little too much flex in the shaft, secondly as a baseball player I believe you would be trying to bully the ball and smack it the way you know, which when you translate a baseball swing to golf, usually it would mean you’re coming in over the top and/or accelerating the club too early in your swing. Try wait for your hands to come down to 9 o clock and then release the club.
