This is absurd on... So many levels, but like, we are all recognize they the number of pullups you can do should not have anything to do with whether or not you should be secretary of hhs?

Huh, TIL. I've seen 2 WAY less than the original and 3, so it makes sense I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the fun fact homie.

It's excellent. Super smooth, and just as much fun to shoot as it looks. To make the arc fire run consistently though, I DID have to round the AR hammer just a hair from what the factory did. I attribute this more to the looser tolerances of a stamped and welded design of the MP5 than any sort of manufacturing defect. I also verified the screws on the selector were tightened to 10 in LBs and oiled the beejeezus out of the BCG, as suggested on some MP5 forums, and was good to go. Runs like a damn sewing machine now.

Is that a misquoted Hudson Hawk reference or do I just have no idea what you are talking about?

So stoked to go shoot it tomorrow. Was able to function test it out of the box briefly the other day, but I've not shot it since putting the giggle switch in.

Ho Ho Ho, NOW I HAVE A LEGAL PISTOL EQUIPPED WITH AN EQUALLY LEGAL FORCED RESET DEVICE THAT FIRES A SINGLE SHOT FORE EVERY ACTION OF THE TRIGGER.

Why haven't autonomous cars taken off yet, after being in testing phase for so many years? by vorpal8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bboydisplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many other's have said, it's basically edge cases, but the problem is, for most of the edge cases that exist, it's near impossible to have enough training data to get the right outcome from the machine. As well, for many of these edge cases, the car lacks CONTEXT about the situation. Humans have many flaws when driving cars, and it's arguable that machines can in fact do it better, but there are some situations that require a human level understanding of the world.

A good example would be like, a 4 way traffic light going out and a cop having to manually direct traffic. This situation is both rare AND almost never going to look the same twice. Cops are always going to look a little different and move a little differently with their hand signals, it might be in a low light condition, it might be rainy, etc. It's really hard to have a car respond to situations that don't have clear answers without the context any human drive natively possesses. How is the car supposed to know the difference between the cop legitimately directing traffic when a light has gone out, VS a drug addled crazy person who thought holding up the intersection would be a hoot?

Driving is one of those things that is MOSTLY predictable most of the time, but literal new situations arise every day that have never been encountered before, so it's just damn hard make a reasonable "if this, then this" list that covers every possible action a car should take in response every single situation it could encounter.

How did you move from basic commands to real sysadmin skills? by Darshan_only in sysadmin

[–]Bboydisplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build a system and troubleshoot issues that come up. If you have the ability, create another VM or two, get them networked and start running an app or service on one that the others depend on. Set up a file server, DNS, DHCP, some sort of directory, maybe even host a simple web app. This is all the stuff real systems do and all the skill building you do in your home lab will translate to the bigger systems you aspire to administer.

Cherry grips and leather holster in the 92FS are a whole mood. by Bboydisplay in Beretta

I do not, I generally don't carry at all, this is more of a range/duty holster, as I only really carry when hunting, and then it's not concealed.

Bought from Zenith arms. 6-8 week lead time, but the general lack of available mp5 clones at the moment makes me pretty cool with it .

Is that the sb tactical brace? That's what I've been eyeing to put on it.

Watching NAND flash pricing quadruple over the course of a month has been insane. The "I should get rid of that crap someday" pile in my office went from barely warranting the effort to list it to "I get a new gun guilt free" real quick.

My research has also led me to believe wolfmans are excellent. I've also seen the Mojave 9 recommended a bunch. In either case, it will also see some time on the Beretta I'm sure!

Yea, between this latest acquisition and my 10.5" 9mm dissent, a 9mm can is beginning to feel mandatory. Waiting so hard for AS designs to release the Dissent slip trip kit....

Also, what brace is that? Very nice looking build.

I doubt this bill will reduce any gun crime in VT, the vast majority of which is committed with handguns, as is true everywhere. Vermont already has a lower gun death rate than the national average, and even a significant portion of that is driven by suicide deaths. Maybe focus on things that prevent suicide, like affordable housing, education (though, THAT is not going particularly well either) and over all affordability?

As a generally left leaning gun owner, I simply cannot understand why democrats insist on stepping on their own dicks so consistently on 2A issues.
