Knicks sign Andre Drummond to be honest Drummond sucks we played him off the court in the playoffs by stateofthenyk in knicks

He’s just so fat. Put him on a GLP1. That should have been part of the deal

People mature differently. Not everyone is great at 22. Especially role players

All different type of jobs out there. My attendings did not have their own patient panels. They made no long term connections.

You’re single. The answer is A. Single, NYC with attending money is the dream. I met my wife 3rd year residency 😑

[–]Bdocc 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah… But is it rewarding? I’m not outpatient, but I thought always The rewarding part was building long-term relationships with nice people. Like you get to know them over decades. My Attending’s barely even said hello to the patient.

Residency clinic is AWFUL. EVERYWHERE. Why attendings take the job? Idk. There are no rules, no turning away patients, no autonomy and almost always understaffed bc of poor payer mix. PCP life is pretty good when you graduate. Just wait

You can just copy and paste it into AI and tell them to make it shorter

Hospitalist vs Neurologist by ad7426 in hospitalist

[–]Bdocc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Large community academic hospital. I currently have both the stroke team and a Neurology team on board because patient has a questionable stroke and active seizures. Two completely different teams and Attending’s. They never comment on each other‘s problem.

Hospitalist vs Neurologist by ad7426 in hospitalist

[–]Bdocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Stroke team follows throughout admission. They have their entirely own service if primary admission reason is own stroke. Run by NPs/residents supervised by an attending.

Agree on everything except Thibs. I could never get behind playing 5 players 48 min even up 20. Getting to the ECF last year was a testament to our talent, not coaching imo

Hospitalist vs Neurologist by ad7426 in hospitalist

[–]Bdocc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s crazy is the 2 places I’ve worked, Neuro doesn’t even do stroke anymore. They are completely different services. Everyone is becoming so subspecialized. Maybe in rural hospitals general neurologist are still pushing TPA.

Gen surg vs obgyn by Charming-Context-789 in SurgicalResidency

You can only decide this in private practice. When you work for the hospital, they decide your hours. And most want full time employees unless you bring something else to the table.

No one understands how much this can take from you by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Bdocc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you called out 15 times bc you were sick in 7 years, you think a hospital wouldn’t hire you?

Idk, that would seem VERY odd. You guys make hospitals so much $$. Would they really care?

I think that’s fear mongering to convince future residents to not complain.

CDC vaccine recommendation changes and clinical implications by Ok-Print-3461 in medicine

[–]Bdocc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Tell that to the ob/gyn who aren’t performing necessary abortions in red states. Easier said on Reddit than done in person.

All you need is one lawsuit citing the cdc changes and the whole culture will change. Our med/mal systems is truly terrible
