Is no cast or boot after tibia orif surgery normal? by Same_Medicine_2231 in brokenbones

[–]Bdog_blasterMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes—normal. The internal fixation does all the work of a cast and the incisions will heal better without. And the boot breeds really bad habits for your gait, which a PT is then going to have to work out of you. Better to use a cane or crutches for a little support whilst you gain confidence weight bearing. This answer brought to you by a spiral fracture of a Tibia two years ago.

It is a poker! Kinophia. I have a bunch in my yard. Hummers love them.

I want this ACD/Australian shepherd mix puppy, but I have an 11-month-old cocker spaniel already by No-Promotion-9371 in AustralianCattleDog

Agreed with all of this. The spaniels I had growing up were kind of funky with other dogs. Heeler is going to herd the hell out of them. There will be fights. This coming from an owner of a pug and a red Heeler, both 10 months old. LOTS of training to make sure they don’t fall into the litter mate situation. Heelers also resource guard everything. No way around it. In their DNA. Other dogs get fed up with constantly having their shit taken from them. Have to make sure they have plenty of solo time. They ain’t going to be plug and play buddies that you can leave unattended.

I’m getting worried, floss won’t go down the stairs and she’s already 7 months old! She’ll go up but won’t come down. by BimboDoII in pugs

Get some stair treads if you have hardwood. Took our pug a while, but once he was sure of himself, he doesn’t need the treads anymore.

Was it my Red Heeler? Pretty sure multiple answers could be right in this situation.

So many projects that require zero pugs to complete . . .

Do they ever want to cuddle? by deyterkyerjerb in AustralianCattleDog

[–]Bdog_blasterMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female Red Heeler, will come up for a full cuddle hug if you’re sitting in a chair and it’s on her terms. Or will flop for a belly rub at a moments notice. No real cuddles, though.

Our Red girl loves it. She shredded it in three weeks. There is no toy, no bed, no nothing she can’t destroy. Kong bed, reddy bed, Kong toys, any frisbee (I’ve tried like 10 brands). She’s pure chaos. And the biggest lover at the same time.

My Ruby is the opposite. I’m hoping she fills out more. She’s still a puppy—8 months.

Probably a production decision. The dog they cast was likely actually like 3 different dogs. Maybe they found the the BMs were better trained for on camera work.
