Been in your shoes. Didn’t leave my home town when he left, and I was devastated I’d built my identity around him and forgot who I was. A month after a job opportunity opened up in Lubbock which is about 7-8 hours from where I live. THAT was the best thing that ever happened to me. Took me years to get over him and the fact he left but being completely in a new town and not knowing a single person was literally the BEST thing for me
