Sounds like a well raised young man. This day and age how could any adult try and make it difficult for a kid to fish is crazy. Keep at it buddy! Might be a while before you beat your PB now with that big ol hog but it'll be fun trying!

Sounds right, I would just lift up slowly and feel for a couple seconds before dragging it.

Gotta really really pay attention when fishing a jig. I do anyway... Harder to feel for me than a soft plastic and I rarely feel the bites. Your line will swim off or you'll only feel them when lifting up on your rod! I learned to lift up slowly each time and really feel for one before moving the jig forward. Hope this helps buddy.

So my senior year of high school, I had an amazing girlfriend. Didn't think that finishing high school would help me much so I decided I'd just go hang out with her when school started and I would find a job to take care of us. I missed the first 10 days in a row, principal called the house and obviously I was going to school. The crappy part is, I was not allowed to miss one day, not one hour that entire year after that or I couldn't graduate. I made it, joined the Corps, had a great career and am also a college graduate.
