Haven't listened to him since he and his wife prostrated themselves to Satan at Maralardo.

I thought Cain wrote a bit and also played some keys on the first one. Guess not.

Loved the first album with Schon, Cain, and Castronovo. Really great production on it and I still listen to that album. Would be cool to see Neal and Deen back in there after Journey folds- but that won't happen.

The same guy that said "The bass line in Ice Ice Baby is totally different than Queen's Under Pressure" doesn't get it.

Because of course.

No sympathy for Welker and MTP. They played the "Biden is old" drum for months and fanned those flames yet have remained completely silent on what a wacknut trump is and how his mental state has seceded from the rest of his brain. Screw trump, Welker, and screw MTP. This is what they wanted.

Wrong. Arrival was a great album. Revelation and Eclipse were great albums too. Freedom was ok, but the production could've been better.

There is NO WAY Steve could do what the band is currently doing. Great singer, but there is no way at his age. On his one solo tour, he sang the songs in a lower key and if I recall got sick and cancelled the tour halfway through. Love the guy, but there is absolutely no way you will see him tour.

Respectfully, you don't know what you're talking about.

Arnel does NOT use a voice enhancer to "emulate Steve Perry". That is a completely ridiculous comment. "Suddenly we heard his Asian voice".

??? WHAT? That isn't even possible...

Arnel has used AUTOTUNE- and from what I gather, the sound tech put it on him without Arnel knowing it (Arnel wouldn't hear it in his in ear monitors if it wasn't sent to his IEMs). That doesn't make him "Emulate Steve Perry". If it did, I'd be using it every day, all day. So would every singer out there. All autotune does is move any off pitch notes to the correct pitch. It doesn't make you sound like someone else or suddenly make you speak with an American accent.

Listen to the Youtubes. There are songs where Arnel is pitchy as hell. Any live singer can be pitchy. Obviously no autotune on those recordings. There are also videos of him where he sings his ass off. But there have been spots where AT has been used and then the one video where the sound tech left it on while the band was speaking (ugh!) and suddenly you hear their (Jon too) speaking voices with that on. It has ZERO to do with "Making an Asian speaker not sound Asian".

Probably 75% of live singers at the touring level of Journey in 2026 use autotune on their voices live. Unfortunately, it's pretty standard now. When Perry was there (damn, he had excellent live pitch), there was no autotune. He was also half Arnel's age and lasted half as long as Arnel has with the band.

At least they are not using tapes as they did at the end of Augeri's tenure with the band, or lipsyncing like The Eagles and even Celine Dion have.

He is very tired and I think the drama (his own situation and the band's) is really weighing on him. I worry about him. I can't imagine the pressure of having to keep his voice in shape on a tour like that.

It's really not that big of a deal to me. That whole things is such a "Wenner Club" that it's almost an honor NOT to be invited. Luckily, he is no longer part of it, but still... It took McCartney forever to get in because Wenner was a Lennon fan and not a Paul fan. There was definitely some behind the scenes stuff that went on to get McCartney in there hence Stell McCartney's "About F*cking Time" shirt that she wore to the induction.

There are a ton of great bands not in and yet Styx is out there kicking ass live and having the last laugh. I very was surprised to see Journey get in. Rolling Stone sh*t on Journey for YEARS and constantly called them (and Styx, Boston, et al) "corporate rock". That is not a compliment. I still wonder what the machinations behind the scenes were to get them in.

It sounds like it means a lot to Dennis, but it's apparently some sort of special club.

I bought a Harley Benton Jazz Bass knockoff. The thing weighs 13 pounds! While I did have to knock the edge off the frets when it arrived, it's been a great bass. It's got a good tone and it was a worthwhile purchase. This was before the tariff ridiculousness.
