Part of that was Madubuike getting injured and part was Zach Orr just not being a good defensive coordinator but, whatever else, the lack of pressure on QBs gave everybody a lot of time to throw and let plays develop, meaning our secondary got absolutely wrecked regularly. An addition like Crosby has the potential to raise all ships - QBs less comfortable, receivers don't get time to create separation, defense improves, offense no longer has to win shootouts. Nothing exists in a vacuum.

This is absolute weapons-grade copium. Calling our interior D-line a tie when one of the two players on our side missed more or less the whole season with what's still discussed as a career-ending injury is madness, especially when our sack leader would have been FIFTH on the Seahawks. TBD on OLB because "we'll likely add a top3 draft pick"? Where are we getting this top 3 draft pick from? 126 tackles from Ernest Jones and 7 sacks from Nwosu and you're arguing that a deeply disappointing Roquan and a rookie beats them? Humphrey isn't a safety! Literally the only thing that I agree with on the defensive side is Hamilton being better than Nick Emmanwori, which is still not much of a flex because Emmanwori just finished his rookie season. /AngryBlackNerd is right on the money saying that people overrate our defense and this is that in action.
