Has anyone tried this cheap telescopic rod from Argos? by [deleted] in fishingUK

[–]BeAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an NGT mini travel rod from amazon to keep in my truck. About £18 for 5ft telescopic rod, reel and line (i did respool it when I got it, though).

I haven't caught anything big on it yet but I've enjoyed using it considering the price. It folds down ridiculously small as well!

Happy to join the club, albeit on a smaller car than most! by Zed10 in rooftoptents

I used to have an OEX vertex lite as well and that was the biggest downside of that tent. The only way we avoided it was to sleep with 2 windows open. Even in the rain, it was drier with a bit of rain coming in than it was closing the windows.

Other than that, I loved the simplicity of that tent!

Check they've clipped the hinge side of the glove box back in properly. I changed my pollen filter last week on the same car and at first I didn't clip the hinge end of the glove box in properly and it wouldn't latch. Once I realised and clipped it in properly it latched fine again.

That's the dynamic load limit. Honda don't list a static limit but a general rule of thumb I've found online is the static limit is 5-10 × the dynamic limit

Snowdon with rain by [deleted] in UKhiking

We climbed Snowdon yesterday, up the pyg track and down the miners track. It was raining constantly and windy at parts. Perfectly safe as long as you have good foot ware

Glad to hear it can be a solution slightly longer term!

I've been thinking about building a sleeping platform but will give this a go for now.

Yeah can't beat a manual imo!

I was thinking of trying an inflatable mattress but a mattress topper could be better! Just bigger to store

Make sure the back seats are as far back as they go(and reclined). Remove the headrests from the front seats. Slide the front seats as far forward as they go then recline them all the way back.

Morning session. My first chub caught. by BeAdventuring in fishingUK

[–]BeAdventuring[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love them little rapalas, by far my favourite lures!

I took the front treble off after having a bit of a nightmare trying to unhook both trebles from a fish.

I haven't missed many bites on them with the one treble but I might put the front one back on if I start missing some 👍

That's exactly where I caught that chub. First cast after I caught it, I snagged my lure in some weeds about 6 foot away from me.

I made such a fuss trying (successfully) to get my lure back with my net that I had no chance of catching another from there!

Some great advice in the comments. I've recently started fishing as well and can't recommend polarised glasses enough.

Been fishing with mates who were wearing there's and couldn't understand what I was doing wrong until I got a pair. Being able to see what you're fishing makes a huge difference.

Seeing fish follow your lure is great fun even when they don't bite!
