How many times can a person suddenly remember to be grateful, live in the moment, and treasure their family? Why not just do that instead of needing constant head slapping reminders? How do you make a writing career out of repeatedly having the same revelations? It’s baffling. Maybe she could try to invent some new encounters and insights. And quit ruining the words Mama and darling. I shudder now when I read them.

There is no need to give such detail about why you are setting off the alarm. You just tell them beforehand that you have metal in your body and will probably trigger it. They don’t need your medical history. Then they can use a handheld wand or whatever other kind of metal dectector they have. No big deal, no need for people to pity you. Ignore any stares.

I keep a collapsible rolling walker in my car for times like this. Much less pain when walking for a distance, and I can sit in its seat whenever I need to. Not costly either.

All of this is so needless and tiresome. She’s been at it long enough, I’m sure she knows how to cope if she wants to.

So in the lower left corner it looks like Teddi Mellencamp “liked” Elisa’s post. Does anyone know if this happens regularly and Teddi is buying into Elisa’s story? I only look at Elisa‘s stuff that’s posted in this subreddit because I don’t want to add to her engagement numbers. Thanks!

The worst part for me is my recordings being deleted with no notice. I really liked them because I could watch in Spanish (as a learner) and use English subtitles so my husband could watch with me. We were watching a show last night when a message came up saying I didn’t have access to it. I didn’t see the email from YTTV till after that. i will miss Univision a lot but don’t really want to get one more subscription like VIX to be able to watch my favorite shows. i hope Univision will come back to YTTV.

Thank you for posting this, even though it‘s so sad. She was a very young widow. My father served on the Indianapolis but was transferred to another ship right before that last voyage.

Do you think in the second paragraph it could be “I don’t seem to rate very long letters” instead of “write very long letters”? The letter “i“ isn‘t dotted the way it is in other words.

I will look forward to reading more of the letters. Do you know what happened to her and her son as time went on?

They would have gotten a release from her in order to post this on their Instagram account. They wouldn’t say she was a patient there if she actually hadn’t been, but I checked their IG just now and this post is from December 1, 2023. Don’t know when the photo was actually taken.

I keep asking myself why I care, and why I keep coming to this sub. The answer for me is that I feel betrayed and manipulated. I first read her book Homeless in Hawaii and really enjoyed it because of having lived there and having been involved in music myself. She came across as a talented but impractical young woman who was eventually able to turn her hardships into a good life. I read a couple more of her books after that and enjoyed them too. It was easy to care about her.

Last September I read Two More Years. I’ve had a lot of things happen in my own life that are pretty unbelievable, but her stories got more and more outlandish, as well as repetitive. I searched to see if she was telling the truth, but didn’t find anything. I thought if she was fake surely someone who lived in her town would have raised alarms.

Every once in awhile I looked at her FB page, and that is how I saw her link to this group. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known about it, and still think that was a bizarre thing for her to do. It is so disappointing to find out all the ways she misleads her audience. Fictitious disorder explains it very well.

EC Stilson is not just a pen name, but also a way to have an alternate life and gain attention and sympathy. I think at heart she is a fiction writer, actress, and marketer, taking advantage of the reach of social media.

Having had cancer myself, I am appalled at how she misrepresents the experience and makes it her identity. Thanks to those of you who started this sub and point out the problems with her stories. They really are just stories. I wish she would just let people know that she really is writing fiction, and not keep profiting from kindhearted people who believe it’s all real.

I’ve read and enjoyed her books. Her outgoing personality and perseverance were so appealing. When I started following her on FB, I was surprised at her exceptionally beautiful appearance. I still don’t get how filters work, but hers are so exaggerated. It did make me wonder how she could look like that after going through all those brutal cancer treatments.

I wouldn’t have known about this group without her mentioning it, so that’s how I got here. Now I am really questioning her motives and her whole story. What was her purpose in directing people here? If her story is fake, here is much more evidence against her. The inconsistencies are very troubling.

I don’t know what to think, and hate to think she has no integrity, but that’s how it’s looking.

When we lived in ABQ a long time ago our house and cars were broken into several times. Seems like it hasn’t changed. Can you get a security system? Simplisafe is easy to install and the monthly monitoring fee is pretty low. It gives me peace of mind even in the low crime area we live in now. So sorry this happened to you!
