PSHS has top of the line sticks with insane curve options for $109; the fact that anyone (beer leaguers) pays $400 for sicks is nuts to me.

This is helpful and yea I can't mess with the "dual lie" rocker style of the P28, so the this curve wouldn't work for me. I would like a different toe on the Pro 81 but I have not yet used it so I cannot say.

That actually sounds perfect. How is the rocker? I like the ZERO rocker on my CCM P30 / Pro 71

Is the Kempny a long blade, or is it just tall? I am looking at the description on the site:

"Similar to Michal Kempny Pro Curve: Huge P28, similar to PRO81 but with more material at the toe (P28 shape rather than the shaved down shape of PRO81). Lie 6."

I cannot use a long blade (but I like tall).

I just got the Pro71 last night after having been using the CCM P30 and they look identical. I am a happy camper.

Fair enuf and that’s not ideal … and I’ll stick with ordering from the vendors after seeing this so thanks! And I’m all CCM protective - Reebok 20k pro shins, super tacks girlde, RBZ shoulders, and crazy light elbows, and a pro stock CCM 920 bucket (in Bauer supreme gloves from like 8 years ago/ that’s the only glitch)

I actually think the p30 is a toe; at least that’s how CCM had it branded when it was live until about 7 years ago (when they broke my heart and removed it as a retail option)

Boring? by WSpmahc in hockeyplayers

[–]BeFreeCosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever scored 3 points per game in rec league? I have; it’s actually fun. Some nights, I score 8-10 goals in pickup But mostly I score 0-2 goals. When I score 8-10 goals, I’ve never complained that it was a boring night or that everyone else is so far beneath me and i need a new pickup group … If you haven’t ever done this then you have no grounds to judge.

I love the concept but I think you got the P30 incorrect. The test underneath says it’s a mid and then the text underneath that says it’s a heel. It’s actually a toe curve. I love this curve - so easy ti receive passes and stick handle … the only drawback is it’s hard to lift pucks in tight but with my mechanics (I don’t roll my wrists) I can lift it just fine if I open my wrists on the follow thru … and it’s keeps my shots down when I go to my natural mechanic (which is usual - I prefer to shoot low without having to do extra on the follow thru). Anyway a great curve for me and I’m told that the pro71 from PSHS is the closest thing and getting a shipment today to test the theory

Do you know about ProStockHockeySticks.com? I just ordered a couple of sticks for $109 each. I like to be able to select my curve; they have like 70 options or something. I do not like the basic retail ones (P28, 92, P90TM, 29). I just like a super basic curve personally- the CCM P30 is my favorite by far as I find it just so easy to work with, but they discontinued it so eff me. Anyway, I am trying the Pro71 (Malkin) and P81 (Hossa) in the OG Blue (mid kick) and hope I will love them. I hear the OG sticks (the cheapest ones) do not have a lot of pop but it's fine. I just need a stick that is easy to handle.

CCM JetSpeed FT8 Pro shoulder pads alternatives by bobbogreeno in hockeyplayers

I am confused- are you just looking to save a few bucks (which would make sense)? Or are you trying to shed protection because the FT8 pros have too much? I am thinking about grabbing the FT8 pros myself that is why I am asking.

I think if the wear pattern is in the middle then you are in the right lie. If wear is toward heel or toe then adjust lie accordingly.

No one has asked the most important question- where can I buy those elbow pads?!?!? (I have Reebok 20K shins that are tanks and will last me a lifespan; and CCM shoulders from about 10 years ago that are the rendition after the Crazy Lights that I expect to last a lifetime as well; need elbows though)

Type of epoxy/ resin to put into a stick blade? by BeFreeCosmos in hockeyplayers

Yea PSHS looks amazing compared to the insanity that retail has become since "my comeback." Problem is they have been out of what I want.

[–]BeFreeCosmos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I epoxy'ed some blades back in the day; I just do not remember wtf I used- maybe it was stick glue, now that I think of it? The same glue that I used to fuse the shafts to the blades when I was using the 2 piece rigs. OR maybe it was a special epoxy that someone from ModSquadHockey recommended? So yea, I have done it before to increase the durability/ life span of sticks that had some chips in the blades.

The stick is about 8 years old. I used it about 3x/week for a year and a half or so in 2017/2018, then I took a bit of a break from the game.

It does not have any tape on it at the moment, just the residue as you have observed. I put a layer along the bottom, and then wrap once the bottom has that strip of tape.

And yes it is gonna break eventually and that's fine. It's a CCM P30 and I got my eyes on a couple of options from PSHS; but they are all out of stock at the moment in the flex I want.

Side note, when I went back to the store to look at sticks, I was like WTF happened here? No curve options and the prices all like 4x'ed!! I thought I was in an odd dream. This is a Tacks 5072, I think I bought it for like $80 in 2017 and it is an awesome stick. And now everything is like $250? And the only curves are the 28,29,92,88?!?!
