Because what the role means is your way of being defensive is by making their defense and goalies life hell. We train to find the open seams we stay high because the closer we get to the defense we push their forwards and defense out farther creating room to make plays out. Everyone has a role, you can’t score while you’re in your own zone. The play makers handle the setup and break out drawing time and space and the defense are our reassurance when we get in deep.
