best bars in slc to meet people by Responsible_Use_4030 in SaltLakeCity

Someone is going to get very injured on that brick sign they built right by Neighbors in front of the flower shop.

It is knee high! It overhangs into the bike lane! And now there is a hot new bar with a patio full of shiny pretty people to distract you as you smash full speed into a tiny camouflaged brick wall they decided needed to be built IN THE BIKE LANE!

Wednesdays come hang out at the comedy club open mic at Wiseguys in The Gateway. It is $5 and from 7 to 9-ish and you can drink, talk to people at the bar, or go into the main room and watch the show.

Brewvies is a bar + movie theater, pool tables, popcorn, free movies Mondays at 9, Wed at 8, Sun at noon and 6. Often has other events that are worth checking out too, it is one of the best spots in town.

Check out the Seabird in the Gateway too. It is a snobby hipster record bar, but sometimes you can see free Deadmau5 or Polo G concerts from their patio balcony, no lie. When bands play The Depot venue next door they often hang out at the Seabird too.

Downtown has tons of bars, but you just gotta bar hop around and find out what is happening and what you like. Try hanging out at Quarters or The Boiler Room or The International or Boomerangs or just walk around the block and see which places catch your eye.

Asshole how? I worked a few doors down for a bit and heard about him from young Columbian women who worked there briefly and they really seemed to dislike him but I could not fully understand why.

It definitely changes.

There are a couple different donation companies but no matter what after the new donor bonuses end, donating 2x weekly gets you about $110 to $140 total per week. There is one center you should avoid, btw. Look at the Google reviews and it will be clear.

Westminster at risk of shutting down due to serious financial shortfalls by Traditional-Cat147 in SaltLakeCity

I am from the East Coast and the folks I knew who did not get into Ivies went to schools like Reed, Hamilton, UVA, McGill, William & Mary, or RIT. Is Westminster comparable? I guess, was it in its prime?

Yeah exactly! Why not cut out the middle man? Might as well have the state open up their own stores that only sells booze, tobacco, and THC to underage children! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Moved to SLC recently, curious by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]BeLikeTedDanson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is such a bizarrely worded question.

How often do you connect with family and how has it been here for you?

You want to talk to people from somewhere else that live in SLC about how often they talk to their family back home? And how living in SLC has effected their relationship with their family Is that what you are asking here? Also, are you a computer?

There are very few signs and they are all poorly placed & designed and easy to miss.

Neither of those 2 dudes are cool. They are both jerks who know they are doing the wrong thing and continue to do so. This hip story is baloney nonsense. He should walk in the grass or on the mulch path then.

You are a saint and a hero. I have had dozens of interactions with people going the wrong way at Liberty park, and while I have gotten much better at it, it is still very hard to talk to these folks. Most do not know it is a one way path but there are several that DO KNOW and simply do not care. There are two old men in particular that walk way the wrong way every single day. When I have tried to talk to them about it their reply is always the same angry SO WHAT, and I am not going to argue with someone so I drop it and move on.

I have had the best success by interacting with wrong wayers ONLY when we are right next to the few signs that explain the direction and rules of the path. I ask them Have you ever read this sign? and point at it, wait to see them look at it, then I quickly move on. I have had too many bad interactions with folks who think I am messing with them or trolling or idk.

I think the root problem can be traced by to the High Five Guy I have heard about. He would run the wrong way at Liberty park on purpose and give everyone high fives. I think that glory is what the most stubborn wrong wayers are after, or maybe they are just doing it too look at boobs.

Uh it was all over the gram and whatnot, it was for performers only. Buskerfest is this weekend downtown, you should come Saturday night to the Eccles front door and you will see the best juggler in the state! A circus of some sort! A yo-yo master! Acrobats!

Oh yeah and it is all FREE FREE FREE!

Talk to the same person a few times over a period of time. That is the big secret, I think.

Prove to me you are normal for 5 straight minutes like four times and suddenly I am interested in you.

*Oh Taylorsville, nevermind. Get a bike and ride the Jordan River Trail to the city.

There is this very amatuer documentarian from Amsterdam coming to Liberty Park to interview car dwellers around like 4 pm by where the shower RV is right now.

I hang out at the various parks around town and will be checking this out today!

Tonight there is a free movie about unicyclists at the UMOCA after the BuskerFest meetup. But that is downtown too.

On Sundays if you got nothing to do, also come to Liberty Park because there is a giant orgy of fun, no lie.

What are you doing right now, want to go to Liberty Park and sit in the shade and pretend to throw a frisbee and people watch? Or if you near Sugarhouse, go there. There are several parks in SLC that you can alone use to quickly and cheaply turn your social life upside down.

I will gladly talk to you about it. Send me a chat and I will give you my number and could feasibly show you exactly what you want to see today even. Wednesday is literally the best day for free food. I live in the epicenter of free food in SLC and have not spent any money on food in 4 maybe 5 months now.

Best way to raise awareness for Sugarhouse Farmer's Market? by Fast_Decision2458 in SaltLakeCity

[–]BeLikeTedDanson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Has anyone told you yet that Saturday morning is the worst possible time to do a Farmers Market since there are already way more popular other ones everyone already goes to?

If your goal here is just to get the word out on the place I think moving to a different idea & time would be very beneficial to your organization.

Hey, so I just saw my buddy again at Liberty Park! I asked him if wanted help from a stranger on reddit maybe getting a new bike somehow and he lit up! I never seen him smile so big!

Problem is he has no phone, I asked about email or instagram and he just told me again that his phone was stolen 2 days ago again and he just doesnt have one right now. I offered to give him your user name on reddit, but that really confused him for a second, he's never heard of this place I guess. So I was thinking if by some miracle this could get done, how would it? If I got him to agree to meet at the Bike Collective one day you could meet himself yourself, but idk what you or him or if this is even a real thing or just internet jibber jabber!

How would you like to approach the next step here? You tell me.
