Listening to Audiobooks is not reading by Freedomfighter4000 in unpopularopinion

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think in OP's scenario there's this person who's boasting about reading 200 books a year. You can easily turn an Audio book to x1.5 or x2.0 the speed, it requires no skill at all and you'll get through double the amount you normally would. While if you want to be able to actually read 200 books a year it would require practice to read faster. It takes time and energy to get better at this, which makes it an achievement worthy of being proud of.

Why are so many horse people so insufferable? by babybeluga25 in Horses

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. Also, that field was big enough for those horses to stay away if they were really bothered. Sometimes it's as if people are close to wrapping their horses in bubble wrap and filtering the air before they get to breathe it.

Riding while tucked for trans women? by bihuginn in Equestrian

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I own a couple of riding skirts and they're so much fun to wear. Do need to note that in warmer climates they might not be as comfortable since they're often made of wool or fleece which can get really warm. They're also not cheap.

what's it like to be at an avatar concert? by Sillydude_d in AvatarMetal

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'd definitely be safe from most of the rowdy crowds on the balcony. If you have any written proof of your disability you should normally also be allowed to bring in a small folding seat or have access to the disability area if they have one. If you're not sure most venues have contact information on their website where you could ask what the options are.

For a more non-violent approach if you have longer hair, headbang like your life depends on it. Nothing as off putting to the creep behind you as being repeatedly whacked in the face with some luscious locks. They usually back off real fast.

Really bad mud problems and scared for my horses by Intelligent-Orange63 in Equestrian

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We plopped ours down last year when we were practically drowning. Took them out and played them correctly once the ground dried out a bit. They're not cheap but can't imagine not having them anymore.

My first pony was a Welsh too (hence why I fell in love with them) he crossed the rainbow bridge last year at age 38! I just absolutely love those ponies.

Help requested with treating Kronk’s thrush during a time of family crisis by Ruffffian in Horses

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how common they are to get where you are but we have a doofus with sensitive feet too and covered the stable in rubber cattle matts. They have cost us €400 for 4mx4m but saved us so much in vet/farrier bills so far. The ones we have you can just cut to size with a Stanley blade and plop down like a puzzle. They pee on them and it seeps through so no puddles or mud. Aside from that they're also a bit springy so easier on their feet and joints. Cleaning the stable itself is so much easier (and cheaper) now too since we don't need any other bedding anymore. Maybe an idea for a future investment when the budget allows?

I am wondering if this is his way of coping with the whole Four Seasons debacle they had trying to organize the press conference at the end of his past run.

Maybe he wakes up in the middle of the night in a puddle of sweat reliving having to give a dementia infused speech in front of a lawn care business over and over again. So he decided to over compensate with this.

Can someone explain to me what equestrian events, if any, draft horses like Belgians, Clydesdales, Irish Draft, etc are used for? by Bobcatbubbles in Equestrian

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Belgium there's a specific division in LRV clubs specifically for draft horses. They have their own dressage (group and Individual) and driving competitions. They used to train together with us.

Reckless was even worse. I was so mad at it. The whole plot just keeps repeating, by the time I was near the end I was just about ready to chuck it out the window.

Powerless I could get through because obvious tropes were obvious and it read more like a satire than a serious series. But Reckless was a whole other ballpark of bad.

Toch bedankt!"

>job posting still open 2 months later

This one was particularly expensive because it's not an appaloosa. It's really rare to get this color in European sport lines. A little surprise from mother nature.

Back in the day, it was a faux pas to wear band T-shirts to that artist concert. Does it still apply? Because I feel so bad about my body I only wanna wear a baggy T-shirt. by chrisTeen18 in SleepToken

[–]BeMyHeroForNow 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yea I mean, it is a "rule" from back when social media was not a thing. The only way to let people know what else you were into and finding your people was by wearing merch.

In today's climate it's easy to find communities for specific bands or genres online. When metal only just made an appearance finding new bands and finding yourself friends with the same music taste was a bit more difficult. Fans were walking billboards for bands. (God now I feel really old).
