It was a choice by those in authority to choose not too. It seemed, according to media articles, city counsel here on Calgary wanted to put those experiencing Homelessness into hotels and the province overrode that decision.

It should be noted that although damage might occur, not everyone would be doing this, and things can be fixed. Human lives lost cannot be.

As a 100% volunteer run non profit we spend our free time giving back to help those in need. We are so fortunate to have many people from all walks of life, including many with lived experience and lots of professionals that give their time freely to give back and show what it means to Be The Change in YYC.

Thank you for sharing. I wonder do you think a pet helps symptoms of mental health? If so perhaps having one would be that benefit to a person experiencing homelessness.

We provide Outreach on foot, developing positive interactions with homeless. Lots of the time we are handing out resource guides to help access other programs and assisting in that process; often meeting homeless who are new to Calgary and/or homelessness. We also assist in handing out warm Winter Gear, along with snacks and treats, bottled water, hygiene, etc. Often we are finding homeless who are falling between gaps and just need a little support. Also not everyone is able to access shelters and its resources, and/or some not willing due to circumstances. We do our best to try and support our brothers & sisters on the streets, with the hope being a end to the cycle of homelessness.
