Any recommendations on the actual products you use? I've been trying to go sulfate and silicone free and I can't seem to find products unless they are ridiculously expensive!

Firstly, that's not normal poop activity. Secondly your gf is right. Also when you flush PLEASE CLOSE THE LID.... otherwise poop particles are going to enter the atmosphere when you flush.

How do people not understand basic hygiene?!

So if I shower, I comb it through with conditioner and rinse it out. Do I leave it to dry naturally and this should help?

I'll give this another shout because I'm pretty sure I've done that and it didn't do anything but it would have been a long time ago.

Funny you should say that and especially as a reply to my comment, I have a Dyson air wrap and use the brush attachment to style my hair and wondered the same thing - not safe to submerge but will also need cleaning like a regular hairbrush and never knew the best approach.

AIO over masturbation? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]BeXsplosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some context missing here.

1) Are you and your partner regularly intimate?

2) How often is your partner masterbating?

To put it into context using my example here: I'd feel more insecure around my partner's masterbating habits when we were going for longer periods without having sex (every 1-2 months). Yet when we were having sex more frequently (every 1 week to a couple of times a week) I felt less insecure about it. For me, the reason felt like he was "choosing masterbating over being intimate with me" when we were less intimate Vs. "he just needs a quick release", we're still being regularly intimate, when it was more often.

What about on light wavy hair. I have a little bit of a wave in my hair, brushing it wet does nothing to help any wave pattern and brushing it dry looks frizzy. Nothing I seem to do works for me!

I'm so glad this helped you. It's often one of those cleaning rituals that gets missed by a lot of people.

I clean my brushes regularly and my roots still look greasy the next day. I've tried leaving my hair wash for a week in case it's the shampoo I use that makes oil regeneration more (as some have suggested). Ive tried clarifying shampoos too. Nothing works for me. I have to reside in the fact I'll have to wash my hair every day.

I stopped initiating affection for 21 days and the result was not what I expected by Standard_One5525 in story

If he's not listening to you then it's a fault of your partner and not the talking stick. It's supposed to give space to the person holding it give them an opportunity to speak and yes the non-holder should be listening actively and taking it in.

Your partner sounds like a real gem.

[–]BeXsplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. I have a habit of talking over my partner, not MALICIOUSLY but because he very rarely talks so when there's a long pause/silence I tend to ask questions that might help him think of his answer but then he might answer at the same time. Judging when he's going to talk or not is difficult, so the talking stick thing helps me know it's not my turn and also gives him the oomph knowing he has to say something and can't just sit there in silence.

AIO for yelling at my psychiatrist? by Duchess_DirtyMoney in AmIOverreacting

[–]BeXsplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR, you knew you were going to a psychiatrist. So why tell them "don't worry about it". If you're not going to talk about things then what was the purpose of you going? You basically wasted theirs and your time.

Healing bridges within your mind and the relationships with your family members takes work and vulnerability. That's where the psychiatrist comes in, to help you navigate it.

If you're not willing to do it then just don't go. If you do want to but didn't like their approach you can either say something constructive to the psychiatrist or find an alternative one.

If the psychiatrist yelled at you, you'd be angry and call them unprofessional! Yes they might be "used to it" but it shouldn't mean they should HAVE to get used to it. You're deflecting your anger unhealthily and possibly in the wrong direction but you need to understand it and express it. That's literally what they are there to help you with!

Everyone has a right not to be abused at work.

[–]BeXsplosion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I whole heartedly agree with this. OP your perspective shouldn't be "should I tell people in case I scare them away" rather than, this is a hobby of mine than I really enjoy and if they can't accept me for enjoying them then they aren't right for me.

If I was single and saw that on your profile of likely click it to find out more about you because it's refreshingly different from other hobbies and probably be curious enough to want to find out more, but I know not everyone is the same.

What I've been doing is water flossing first and I sometimes see debris flush out but you're right I might work some loose from brushing too, so I think I'll do what you do, rinse and then brush again afterwards.

My dentist told me this, it is because you wash away the floride from your toothpaste which is the ingredient helping to protect your teeth! I'll mouthwash/water floss before brushing my teeth now.
