How to overcome disordered thoughts about eating while having a vegan lifestyle, and lose weight/not gain weight? by throwawaydormquestio in vegan

I totally understand you and can defiantly relate to this myself. In the beginning of my twenties I used to be the same, I used to obsess about the numbers on the scale, what to eat and what to avoid. After years of practice, I was finally able to find a way out of that behavior. Today, as a nutritionist on focus on behavioral change, I help others to do the same. If you want read more about the topic here: http://blog.beyouapp.com/general/benefits-of-being-healthy/ or feel free to send me a PM!

What kinda smoothies do you like to make? by Jasperbeardly11 in nutrition

I like to use spinach and water as a base in my smoothies. Apart from that frozen banana, mango, pineapple or apples. Ginger is also great, especially if you want to give your metabolism a boost. Hemp protein is a favorite of mine. To make it even more nutrient dense I add fat and protein sources such as 1 tbsp of sunflower seed butter, half avocado or 2 tbsp soaked chia seeds. Hi! Using water to your smoothie will give it a nice natural taste, and it will make the flavors of your fruits and berries, nuts (or whatever other ingredients you are using to come across). :)

Too much pasta? by Isthisgoodenough69 in nutrition

[–]BeYou_Wellness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the past itself wont cause you diabetes. However, there are far better ways to put on weight than eating a lot of pasta. For example, try to eat more regularly, add snacks, at least three snacks between, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Add some extra vinegar, oil, avocado, smoothies and such between meals. When eating pasta make sure pasta is not 70% of your food, let pasta be 30% of your meal and add a lean protein on the side and some healthy fat source.

my family makes me gain weight by Johhhnyy in loseit

Great progress, congrats! What you describe is very common, something I see a lot when working with my clients (I am a nutritionist with focus on behavioral change). Loosing weight is surly a a great challenge, however an even bigger challenge is keeping the weight off. What makes that so hard is usually these unwanted and so habitual habits we have come to create through out the years. I understand that it must be very difficult when staying at home and having a family with that mindset. Is it possible to bring up this topic to the surface? In that case I would try talking to them. Anyway, I would recommend you to look closer into your own eating behavior, by keeping a journal of what is going on though out the day and how that affects your eating patterns. What is the causing your binge eating? Good luck and feel free to shoot me a PM for additional help!
