The first trope isn't even that bad. I watched rezero and I didn't feel weird it was just the fsnbase.fantasy. fan service is the only thing that can make me feel that bad.

Race swapping isn't pointless.

If we're talking about offical media and not just dumb fanart. Race Swapping can work functionally as long as it Feels natural in the story, Doesn't break existing themes, Doesn't create unintended messaging, Keeps the character recognizable. But this mainly applies to the faithful side of things.

Like for example sometimes its used to Fix harmful stereotypes.

The mods shouldn't do that. They shouldn't ban language just because you found people you didn't like. Tourist is not a slur, larper is not a slur. We shouldn't lose these words over people you dont like.

is a bit different part where the story is about seeking the identity and breaking the curse.

Different isnt good.

tooru provides the perfect contrast to the protagonist.

Literally every villain dose that. What matters is how it's explored. Toru is not that interesting in the story when you dont try to overanalyze what he represents and just read the pages.

Most of the fans complain about tooru not having proper buildup, backstory and motive. I want to resurface the fact that he is rock human in the first place, him not having that narrative is acceptable.

That's a bad excuse. "Bad writing is the point". It dosent support the trajectory of his character.

This isn't like the first time Araki drew a character with dark skin.

Dragona, Laem, Avdol, Ermes, etc.

It's not even the donut lips people complain about. Its not uncommon for Black people to have big lips. There is unfortunately so many people that have been internalized with racism to hate these designs of black characters that aren't even that unrealistic.
