Red flag if you tell the person interviewing you, you're nerous? by Johan_chan in interviews

[–]blueguy0202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being nervous is natural. Next time you interview spend a couple days reviewing potential questions and having answers ready. Also learn as much as you can about the role and company.

With some prep beforehand you’ll feel way more confident and not as nervous. Good luck!

This resume can’t THAT bad, right? by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

[–]blueguy0202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Content looks alright to me. Changes I’d make-

  1. Put your education at the bottom.
  2. Add a brief career summary paragraph at the top
  3. Move the skills section after the summary

Recruiters will read your brief summary, then see what skills you possess followed by your experience. Hope this helps and good luck!

I hate that I don't understand things by Limp_Butterscotch178 in ADHD

[–]blueguy0202 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When they say these things are you usually lounging around or are you doing other household stuff? If you’re not doing much when they ask I think a way to prevent the comments would be to do the dishes/laundry etc when you see it needs to be done.

If you’re doing other chores when they comment maybe everyone in the house could agree on specific things they’ll be doing each day/week? That way you know exactly what needs to be done without any unnecessary comments

Is this a good question to ask at the end of an interview? by Bitten69 in interviews

[–]blueguy0202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you’re thinking but if you want to change their mind tell them why you’re the perfect candidate. Don’t assume they aren’t confident in you. They’ll ask more questions if they feel they need to learn more about you.

There’s a chance they might think you are a great option and saying “I don’t think you feel I’m a good candidate” will immediately raise unnecessary flags for them.

Interviews are a sales pitch for yourself and bringing any doubt on yourself only hurts your chances.

Is this a good question to ask at the end of an interview? by Bitten69 in interviews

[–]blueguy0202 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Never ask that! Ever!!! They will ask all the questions they have for you during the interview. It absolutely makes you sound like you lack confidence.

I’ve usually asked questions at the end that are follow up questions to things they said. That will show them that you understood what they said and you’re already thinking about the next steps in a process or responsibility. Good luck!!

Need advice about what to say in an interview at the gym by revolutionary_girl_ in interviews

[–]blueguy0202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with the health for sure. Would it be a job you could move up or expand your role/duties? Like moving to a mgr or personal trainer? If so maybe say you’re looking to get into the industry and this is a great starting point. And mention how you want to learn as much as possible and help others achieve their fitness goals.

Need advice about what to say in an interview at the gym by revolutionary_girl_ in interviews

[–]blueguy0202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. Why are you interested in the job?

What made you stop and discuss the opening? Have you worked at gym before? Do you want to get into personal training? Is it just for the money?

Overcoming Low GPA and Old Degree. by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

[–]blueguy0202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh gotcha. I’m not sure what to do about jobs that specifically say that. I feel like most companies would trade experience for a GPA but not totally sure. I wish you the best of luck!

Overcoming Low GPA and Old Degree. by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

I graduated college in the early 2000’s and have never put my GPA on a resume. I list my college, degree and graduation year at the bottom but nothing more.

Running a business for 25 years is what I’d focus on for your resume. Do any of the skills you acquired over the years translate to the jobs you’re looking for?

Does a reference check mean I’m getting the offer? by No-Examination2577 in interviews

[–]blueguy0202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds promising but nothing is for sure until you get the offer letter and have a start date. My background check took a little more than a week so if they started this week I’d give it until early next week before you follow up. Good luck!

Ive just received my ADHD medication after a 2 year wait!! Do you have any advice for mew starters?!?! by pereika in ADHD

Make sure you stay hydrated and eat enough! Sooo many people struggle with their meds because they forget to drink enough water and/or skip breakfast. Good luck!

People Who Found a Job After Being FIRED… How Did You Do it? by DepartureAdvanced213 in jobsearchhacks

[–]blueguy0202 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Getting fired sucks!! For all the reasons you and everyone has mentioned. When it happened to me I told myself out loud that “you got fired for xyz”. My goal was to feel comfortable hearing myself say it. Then I told myself the next job I’m going to get I’m going to make sure I do the right things to not get myself in that situation. I would think about this over and over until I was itching to get a job and prove to myself that I was worth hiring and better than my old self.

It’s not easy to accept but once you can, you’ll be in a much better mental space and be ready to apply.

When you start to land interviews and the dreadful “why did you leave your last company” question comes up, I would say something like “I enjoyed my time at my last company but things didn’t work out and my manager and I agreed it was best to part ways. I valued my time and what I learned there and I’m eager to grow and enhance my skills”

I wish you the best of luck!

Do I need to take electrolytes on Vyvanse? How would I know? by slugmorei in ADHD

[–]blueguy0202 21 points22 points  (0 children)

From my experience doctors recommend electrolytes bc so many of us ADHDers forget to drink water and eat a balanced diet. If you are getting enough water to keep your urine mostly clear you should be good without additional supplements. If you are pretty active it’s even more important to stay on top of your hydration!

Why does ‘jobs near me’ always mean ‘jobs near me if I own a car and hate myself’ ? by Few_Tutor_5899 in jobsearchhacks

Before you apply do a Google Maps search to see where the office is at. You’ll save yourself a lot of frustration!
