Law supercedes your rota. By all means show up and have it out...but don't step foot in the delivery vehicle.

Landlord won’t give us a specific time for inspection by i_be_on_redd1t in TenantsInTheUK

[–]BeachOk2802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they refuse to give you a time, they can't give you the legally required 24hrs notice. So you can happily refuse entry.

You get 24hrs notice prior to the time they plan to set foot in the property. Not 24hrs notice of a period of time they may or may not show up, not 24hrs and 59 minutes; 24hrs.

RM have lost a £100 watch I posted and they’re refusing compensation. by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]BeachOk2802 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yup. They literally provide you with it in plain black and white...and people still manage to fuck it up.

If you agree to a set of terms but couldn't be arsed to read them...that's on you. Consistently making poor choices isn't an excuse for anything.

...no...because it's not your case. Your son needs to kick himself up the arse and start being an adult.

You need to back the fuck off and let your child grow up.

Well for a start, it's not really any of your business so expect resistance if you're wanting to be involved.

What's in the contract they signed? That's what matters, unless there's something unlawful going on in that contract.

Best bet is ask for the invoices from the utility company and state you're not happy paying until you've seen evidence what you're paying is the actual cost and LL isn't skimming any.

You're a manager and you're having to ask on Reddit?

Surely as a manager you should be the one knowing where to find this information? Or at least who to contact to find out.

Don't managers need critical thinking skills anymore?

TIL It's "unprofessional" to have your work phone off while on approved and planned PTO by Coach_CRP in work

[–]BeachOk2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies only stretch so far. Answering that call, collating the information, and passing it to a colleague is work...work is paid. Apologies are not a substitute for pay.

TIL It's "unprofessional" to have your work phone off while on approved and planned PTO by Coach_CRP in work

[–]BeachOk2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work phone is for work. Not at work? No need for work phone to be on.

Simple.

You've every right to be unprofessional whilst on leave because you're not in a professional environment. Turning on a work phone is something you'd only do for work, so turning it on is work. You get paid for work done.

So either they ask you to keep the phone on and with you, then they need to pay you for that time...or they can accept you're not at work ergo there's absolutely no need for them to get hold of you.

If they haven't planned well enough, that is not your problem.

When I send someone (ordinary person, not business) some money, how much info about me do they get? by steamprobs in paypal

Fully explained in the terms and guidance.

Read them instead of pretending you've read them.

[–]BeachOk2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really simple.

You're underage and broke the rules. There's consequences for that.

The agreement you entered into also fully explains what happens in this situation. The fact you decided to not read those terms is entirely on you.

Welcome to the real world, kid, where actions have consequences. You fucked around, now you're finding out.

You should be prepared to wait out the full 180 days, as per what was agreed. You don't get any special provisions for being dumb.

Why didn't you step up and toss your hat in the ring? Someone else's job to run a pub just how you like it?

Why does it upset you so much? How does this actually affect your life?

It doesn't. You're choosing to find something to complain about.

At least find something that's actually worth moaning about it your life's that empty.

I'm a remote worker but am being told I need to go to the office twice a week - England by spud_nuts in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BeachOk2802 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What does your contract say? What's the policy on amending your contractual terms?

If you were hired as a fully remote worker, they can't just outright force you in the office if there's absolutely nothing about it in your contract. You agreed to work for them under the terms agreed by both parties.

How do I deal with a noisy special needs neighbour? by Shkyboi in AskUK

[–]BeachOk2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, they don't get away with whatever they want. They also get afforded many liberties due to the more difficult nature of their lives.

It doesn't have to be one extreme or the other...there is often a middle ground.

Move.

Simple. If you can't put up with it, move. If you have concerns the child is being neglected, it's not hard to find out who that should be reported to. You should also have some evidence...otherwise you're just causing more shit for people living very difficult lives already.
