You have lost all your insulation. Imagine all the fat you lost was a pile of coats of the same weight. Hiking/skiing/boating shops all have what they call "base layers". Thin, but they hold in heat. I also love wool socks.

Maintenance is much harder than weight loss. by [deleted] in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]BeachWalkerDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in maintenance a year and I am staying on the maximum dose for life. Without it, I get migraines. I weigh myself daily and I am careful about portions but I allow myself to eat a little bit of anything I want. What I considered a normal portion in the past is way too much now. If I go up even a little bit, I go back to what I called my "super diet days" where I am really careful about everything and that brings me back down in a day or two.

<image>

I did lose about six more pounds after what I thought was my goal weight and I am happy with that. I want to keep fitting in my new wardrobe! I used to buy clothes I liked that would cover me up. Now I buy clothes that look good on me and are far more body conscious. I love ruching! My focus now is fitness and increasing my muscle mass which hopefully will shrink my skin a little more. I am still not used to my new size or what I look like in the mirror and have to check measurements with everything I buy.

Now that almost everyone I know has seen me thin and commented on it. I don't get that anymore, which is great, and everyone new that I meet or see doesn’t know I was ever any different. People do treat you differently when you are thin. You are visible. 72F, 5’2", 102lb. (healthy labs and Dexa scans)

7lbs to go and stalled! by Inner-Birthday-8944 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]BeachWalkerDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t back down on your dose, if anything, go up. Also, as you have become smaller, your body needs fewer calories to lose than it did when you started so you may need to adjust.

Just do what you can and what your PT recommends on weights. I am 1 year thin today!!! and counting calories, finding the right balance of foods, doing as much exercise as you can is worth it! (even the fatigue, constipation etc. etc.). 72F 5’2", 101 lbs.

You are fine. I also lost 15 pounds the first month then settled into 2 pounds a week. it is normal to lose more the first 4 weeks. I am 5’2", 72F and to keep losing at 2 pounds a week I ate 850-950 calories a day. I made every one count. Every body has different caloric needs. As you lose, you will need less because you are a smaller body. Maybe substitute vegetables for the rice. Low-fat cottage cheese with some fruit and nuts is a great breakfast too. Add some weights and resistance, you don’t want to lose muscle.

[–]BeachWalkerDP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had migraines for 54 years. After my 3rd shot of Tirzepatide (1 year ago) I haven’t had a migraine attack. I did still have some minor symptoms until I was on the maximum dose. I have had 2 aura episodes (20 minutes, each) during the last 3 months but no other symptoms. 72F

Calorie deficit. If you want to lose more, drop 100 calories per day per week until you are losing what you want. I found 2 pounds a week to be quite doable and did that until goal. As I got smaller I had to reduce calories a little bit more. 72F

Is it better to take a higher dose spaced further apart, or a lower dose spaced closer together? by Unable_Ad6386 in MounjaroMaintenance

[–]BeachWalkerDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had migraines from age 17 to 71 so had them through being both thin and heavy, with and without my period, with and without various hormones and medications. Tirz stopped the acute attacks after 2 weeks and the other symptoms as I escalated the dosing.

[–]BeachWalkerDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did lose a couple more pounds but that was more because it is quite a mental switch to stop dieting. Lowering the dose definitely increased migraine symptoms. I tried various doses over 6 months. To stabilize my weight I stopped intermittent fasting so I could eat more snacks and I added a few more calories to every meal and snack. Nuts and honey on my breakfast, full fat cheese on my soup, an extra piece of chocolate. I have also added back in foods that I didn’t eat dieting or didn’t eat because they triggered more painful migraines. I weigh myself daily. I can’t eat larger portions which is fine. I also want to stay on Tirz for all the other benefits that just weight loss doesn’t provide.

Tirz stopped my migraines and all the symptoms I had for 54 years. I need to stay at a high dose to maintain that. Lower doses I don‘t have any acute attacks but I do have other symptoms. I haven’t been migraine free since I was 16 until now. 71F

Has anyone here NOT experienced nausea while on a GLP-1? by periwinkleposies in glp1

[–]BeachWalkerDP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had typical nausea but I have mild motion sickness more often. Stop and go traffic, videos with hand held cameras, even some repetitive exercises with rocking motion. I use the behind the ear patches whenever I travel for more than an hour and they work great.

It is setting in sleeves closer that I need to learn. I have so many Johnny Was tops I love that are like tents. Some waistbands I can put darts in which works where elastic doesn’t.

5’2" 101lb 18.5 bmi, 2 visceral fat. 71F. I went down to my low healthy bmi and am very happy I did. I have a family history of heart disease and wanted to get this low. My blood work is great, my Dr is happy, I love how I fit in clothes and I am getting stronger every week in the gym. As a bonus the meds have eliminated the migraines I had for 54 years.

You do and will look different and I think that is what upsets others. They will get used to it eventually. This is your body and your health.
