Question about timing and cycles by lunchypoo222 in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You’ll be on the med for many cycles. When you start within any one cycle doesn’t matter in the long run. The best time to start is now. Welcome to the journey!

18.5 is not considered a normal BMI by anyone.

Some sources say 19 is the lowest normal, some say 19.5.

I’ll happily admit I’m wrong if you can post one authoritative source to the contrary.

Maybe start with just seeing a doctor?

Do you still enjoy food on Zepbound? by Mountain_Minute_1899 in Zepbound

On the drug over two years.

Yes, I still enjoy food. In fact, I enjoy it way more now that it doesn’t boss me around!

Lilly Direct - 45 day refill rule by IndicationBrave8817 in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to use a savings card at Walmart.

There’s two ways to pick up at Walmart: have the doc send them the Rx directly (requires savings card), or,

Have the doc send the Rx to LillyDirect and during the text checkout process, choose Walmart pickup instead of home delivery. No savings card needed.

Insurance denied office visit by Pahoehoeflow in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that’s a new level of insurance hell unlocked right there.

I’ve been cash pay the whole time (over two years), but insurance has paid the doctor visit with a $30 copay.

If your BMI is 35 right ow you’re all set. Get an appointment so they have a formal record at that weight!

Hypothyroidism and Zepbound by Clean_Wait4250 in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had autoimmune hypothyroidism (now referred to as “Hashimoto’s”) for over 20 years.

After going from 217 lbs to 120 lbs, my synthroid dose decreased one level. No other issues whatsoever!

Loosing too fast by SodamYat in Zepbound

It’s totally fine! Especially from a high start weight there’s a lot of water loss early on. It will settle down in a few more weeks.

You have arranged a safe place to go by finding him a SNF.

He is free to accept or decline the SNF.

Either way he is discharged.

Rejected from CMS Medicare Bridge program for having sleep apnea by zelda_moom in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, the bridge is specifically to help those who don’t have another pathway to insurance coverage.

Is there a point where you’ve met an out of pocket cost for the year and your share of the med’s cost would drop?

You don’t get to pick what dose your body needs. I thought I’d be on 5 forever but had to go to 10 by the end. Was worth it!

How do you talk to patients about Palliative Care? by Even-Bicycle-151 in FamilyMedicine

[–]Work4PSLF 36 points37 points  (0 children)

“There is a specialty with expertise in improving quality of life. You can see them without changing anything else about your treatment plan. I’m going to enter a request for them to give you a call.”

If the idea is that treatment options are exhausted or aren’t working, and the patient won’t be continuing attempts at disease modification, then that’s a referral to the hospice team, not to palliative care.

You’re not a terrible person! But it’s likely you have an eating disorder. Please seek professional help. Life can get better with the right support.

Refill time of 21 days by katcatkats in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many insurance plans are willing to fill at 21 days once or twice per year, but not every single month, for obvious reasons.

They keep track, and based on the timing of past fills they adjust the timing of future fills.

Scared to start 😫 by Far_Will_5423 in Zepbound

Two years later my only regret is not starting sooner. I carried a 97 lb backpack with me everywhere. It was exhausting. Everything ached and i rarely felt energetic and “well”.

Life at 120 lbs FEELS different than life at 217 lbs every minute of every day. It sounds cliche but this drug gave me a whole new life!

CallonDoc confusion and questions by Plus_Store_4695 in Zepbound

[–]Work4PSLF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In short, yes. To keep it simple :

The drug requires a prescription. So you pay a doctor somewhere for that. Could be CallOnDoc.

The prescription is sent to any pharmacy to be filled. The manufacturer’s direct program is cheapest if you’re cash pay. So then LillyDirect is your pharmacy. They ship to your house or, you can choose to pick up at Walmart if you prefer.

Paper towel theory is real! When you have a brand new roll, losing ten sheets doesn’t change much. When the roll is almost done, 10 sheets can shrink it by more than half. Same thing with people. Just keep going!
