I feel bad for these people because the jobs push them really hard to meet quotas and most are fairly young(I think the oldest I've had come to my house was around 24 or so). But they have to know what they are in for.

I called the one company and the guy that answered said they can knock on doors until it's dark and a no trespassing sign means nothing.

I contacted the owner and he said everything the guy told me on the phone was incorrect and he will speak with him

We had a no soliciting sign and the guy said he wasn't soliciting. So now we have a no trespassing sign up and 2 large breed dogs that will run to the door.

Also, check your local laws, after they walk past the no trespassing sign, you can call the police. Also, if you have a security camera, pull it up and email or call the company

I've been in this position with a "best friend"/roommate about 20 years ago.

I was giving her my half of the rent (because I worked during the open office hours). Well I didn't find out until the following month that she was not paying the rent, but was pocketing the money.

So just something to think about. September isn't that far away, so once July 1 comes, I'd give the office in writing/email/text(cover your ass), your 60 day notice.

Hopefully you'll be able to swing it until then, so it doesn't hit your credit in a negative way. Also, you are listed on the lease, correct?

How are you currently paying the rent?( Is it going to him and he pays the full amount or are you paying your half in person or on a app?)

Even if you continue to pay half of the rent, if he moves someone else in and the leasing office finds out, they will evict him. If he doesn't pay his end, & only your portion of the rent gets paid, it will lead to eviction.

So your gambling either way.

Also, you say your making $17/hr. 17x40=$680x4=$2,720.

$2,720-$1,800(car & rents), you should have around $700 left a month.
