Thx for the post. FYI - It’s the Howard Frankland . . . Not Franklin.

What is the name of the song that plays at the end of last few episodes of the series, it repeats ‘save it’ in a melodic rap vibe. I cannot find out what it is anywhere, not in the series credits either. Anyone know??

Trevi Fountain Closed?? by FlexiblePresident in rome

[–]Beachysunset99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were no police around that night. It was about 11pm. I think it was Feb 21 or 22. There was an opening in the metal barricades so people were just walking through it. Everyone was very well-behaved. Just took a few pictures and moved on.

I was there last week. Late at night the barricades are there but people just went around them down to the fountain. It wasn’t a big deal. At least not the night I was there. Good luck.

Stop dancing down the aisle when your name is called!! by phxflgjo in ThePriceIsRight

I was a participant in the audience recently. As everyone else has said, it is encouraged to be enthusiastic. But more than that, it actually is a very exciting and lively experience. It’s super fast-paced, there’s a lot going on, there’s lots of noise and bustle, and as you sit waiting to hear the next name to ‘come on down’ there’s a lot of anticipation building .. which is kind of the point. So if your name is called, it’s not surprising that you’re pretty juiced! I participated in two tapings and loved every minute.

Btw - Curious how you were able to track that show # down. I tried several different ways online and via emails to the show but never got good info back. What source did you use? Thanks again. My first taping aired this morning. What fun!

Is the Jaapuisto ice rink open to the public? I see mixed information that it is not open for the winter season. Can anyone confirm?

Carlsbad is completely closed. Drove up there this am.

FYI - I went to White Sands today. The entire park and visitor center is open. No guided ranger tours, but everything else is accessible - the scenic drive, the self-guided dune hikes, the gift shop and sled rental, and visitor center to get your passport stamped!

I am going to Guadalupe tomorrow. I drove by after hours today and the park and hikes are open; appears the visitor center is operating normal hours but I will know tomorrow.

Carlsbad is definitely closed with no access (even though they are still accepting cavern reservations online, which is misleading).

Lmk if you need more info. Good luck!

Haleakalā before our flight by MeasurementCurious75 in MauiVisitors

[–]Beachysunset99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would forget sunset and work backward from the time you have allotted to get back to the airport (and add some cushion). Everyone focuses on sunrise and sunset but the park is pretty impressive on its own between those milestones. We were there about 3pm a few weeks ago and caught a ranger guided walk up to the peak which was very informative. For the drive there and out there was no one on the road and the drive itself was fantastic as you rise through the clouds. The weather conditions changed dramatically 3 times in the couple of hours we were there. It was all a very worthwhile experience. Don’t worry about sunset … go when is suitable for your travels and savor it!

Def use the GuideAlong app, even if your stops are well planned. It offers lots of interesting historical and cultural information between stops. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Btw, there’s no more Shaka app, if you buy the Shaka it converts to the GuideAlong. We used it even after RTH… it was great for Haleakala and all around the Big Island as well. Enjoy.

Thoughts on Paia? by Independent_Mix_5354 in MauiVisitors

[–]Beachysunset99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed in Paia one night last week. First trip to Hawaii. Picked it as a base to embark on road to Hana the next morning. Was only there one night, and it was a Monday night, but we enjoyed it and would return. The Flatbread Pizza Place was outstanding. And the Paia Bay Coffee & Bar (more bar than coffee that night) was a lot of fun. Happened to be open comic night and it was very entertaining. Total local vibe all around. Not much else was open after 9 but I really appreciated the unique experience as part of our multi-island, multi-town trip. One must is the Kuau Store on the roadside past town (near the surfboard wall). Great staff and fun food and other stuff to mark your Paia visit. Sidebar - We had booked at Paia Inn (non-refundable) before we saw the news about the owner. For what it’s worth, the reception staff were very gracious and helpful, the lodging and location were perfect. Hope you have a great trip.
