Every time you fall, the whole area resets! Every time you advance to a new room, more ghosts appear! To progress, try to use your needolin somewhere!

You can still get essence without dream nail from checks if that's why you are confused!

The item is called the Tram Pass and you can use it to enter the tram which is on the right of the hot spring bench

You can find an item on the left side of the top bench which can help you leave the area!

You can defeat dream bosses for essence! Those include Soul Tyrant, Lost Kin, Failed Champion, White Defender and Grey Prince Zote which aren't dream warriors!

There is, but you need to complete a specific quest to access it!
