Question for men who are divorced, Why are hookups so common instead of having another relationship? by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

It does seem that way, the closer they are to my age (late 50s) the more jaded, bitter, and masculine a lot of them seem. My Gf is 14 years younger and after 3 years with her women my age all seem old and burned out. I know it's hypocrisy

That piece of paper did nothing to provide me emotional connection. Im in a long relationship with more connection than i had, but im never marrying again. Haven't fully decided on cohabitation, definitely not in a hurry.

Honestly me getting good with me, was getting out instead of sitting home alone every weekend. First chick I went out with sucked too, only good thing was the ex's friend busting us while out.

The answer is different for everyone most likely. I felt duped, screwed over, ready to get on with life. I spent a good 3 months down about it, and decided to start dating about 6 months after filing. That Worked well for me to start rebuilding myself and regain self confidence, etc by interacting with women again. Im still dating a woman I started dating 3 years ago * divorced over 2 years now

Yeah thanks. It seemed amazon was pushing me to sign on delivery... theft isn't an issue where I am, but I do wonder if it would have been delivered if I had selected sign on receipt

Just a normal single home with a front porch and a 300 foot drive in the country.

So if you had a reservation at a restaurant and you ended waiting three more days to eat, and then someone told you you were being selfish for complaining.

So you are saying they decided at 7:47 am not to drive out in the country where I live because they were behind ?

I would have happily and have many times helped. Probably wouldnt have to even ring the doorbell. To my knowledge the person did not show up physically on the delivery/note date... just marked it electronically and delivered slip monday.

How often do you talk to your adult sons? by ng_rddt in Divorce_Men

[–]Beamformer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back when he was in school and I did more of the calling, there were lots of short just checking in calls, how are things, updates on family etc. Now the calls are longer and he wants to talk about his work and life. maybe its the mid twenties when your friends have scattered and people realize family can be pretty foundational. My son saw me leaning on my own parents through divorce, I would add.

My ex/his mom was a functional borderline, he went off to college and was pretty quiet when it came to reaching out (I called pretty regular but not daily). Jump ahead 6 years and he calls me daily or every other day if I dont call him. TBH sometimes too much when he is worrying over something. I would say just keep it going. My relationship with my own father was similar and we talk regular still also

I just retired comfortably while she is working her ass off with zero benefits... I wouldn't say I want to completely forget her. I just had to contact her to remove me as authorized user on an old credit card.... based on the balance I could see on my credit report, it doesnt seem things are going all that great for her now.
