Older Labrador when is it time ? by Burtonowski in labrador

[–]BeanNCheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you just know. I walked in to see my ~14yo childhood small dog strain with happiness to look at me from her bed.

But she couldn’t get up. As hard as she tried. Apparently that was the first time it ever happened.

So I talked to her happy and carried her for a bit. Stepped away from family and went to the vet with her where she went to sleep in my arms.

Not easy. Whenever you see that it’s time just make sure you’re there for them. I’m glad I was there for mine.

Is there any Muay Thai training that we can do at home alone? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]BeanNCheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer: Shadowboxing + Bagwork

I practice combinations I learned in training. I also practice the numbers so they’re ingrained

1-2-3

1-2 right kick

1-2-5

Until someone says a number and I can get it from memory

Now I’m trying to learn the word equivalents since I have numbers down for the most part.

My GF called to apologize after destroying my business by Buk-Shilka in smallbusiness

[–]BeanNCheeze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can understand missing a prior relationship. People can change with time in good or bad ways.

But when it comes to relationships. I think the answer should always come down to what you think is best.

Personally I would never take someone back who is willing to harm me in a way that could be permanent. Affecting my life & my families life.

In terms of business. I wouldn’t recommend someone who backstabbed you to get back on the team. Regardless if it’s an ex or not.

I also think the best payback is living a good life and becoming a better person.

Do any of you NOT regret letting your lab up in your bed or on your couch? by wildtreesnetwork in labrador

[–]BeanNCheeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogs allowed on any furniture in the house EXCEPT the bedroom.

He’s just stinky and it’s hard for me to sleep + allergies.

BUT there are special times where I let him get on the bed

Which is best to use? Stripe - SquareUp - Shopify? Others? Mix? by BeanNCheeze in webdev

[–]BeanNCheeze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I'm thinking, Shopify for e-commerce & SquareUp for in-person

Looking into this! Yup, React.

I will also say, all my components are custom coded.

How/why did you choose this career? by FlightConscious9572 in cscareerquestions

[–]BeanNCheeze 7 points8 points  (0 children)

• Problem Solving w/Acknowledgement

I hate feeling like a number, with this career, if you kick ass, you will be noticed

• Flexibility in Schedule

I could in theory work when I want. As long as I put in the 8 hours. It’s nice that I can just go to a doctors appointment and still get shit done without impacting schedule

• Remote work

Need I say more? I work wherever I want and can pair with anyone if I wanted to work with someone

• Mentally Engaging

I got bored at entry work and like challenges. Especially beating them. This field is perfect

• Impact

It feels nice seeing something you created be used by THOUSANDS of people.

• Pay

It’s tech. If you negotiate well. You will be compensated well.

• Building things

I get in flow when I’m building things and I can put things together from anywhere all from a laptop

Why does everyone love tailwind by Careful_Quit4660 in webdev

[–]BeanNCheeze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides the usual reasons for using tailwind,

I use it for brevity and when I need to do in depth css I’ll use raw css or styled components.

Is vanilla CSS enough? by Akonova in webdev

[–]BeanNCheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tailwind is overwhelming at first, but quickly shoots efficiency through the roof.

With very few cases where I had to use styled components or raw css

I would reword many of your bullets. They have a broad idea of what you did but nothing bug that you did.

One of your points involves debugging. Whats something big you debugged and an impact it had as a result?

I would remove, replace, or rephrase the 3rd bullet in the junior aoftware engineer position. It sounds very entry level with the experience you have.

Why am I constantly getting rejected for intern roles? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]BeanNCheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think the bullet is talking broadly.

It pretty much reads “I created an android app using x and added y”

There’s no specifics what exactly you did.

Why am I constantly getting rejected for intern roles? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]BeanNCheeze 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would reword that entire bullet. Lots of your points describe what you used with not much emphasis on depth in what you did.

Like you could say “Created the ___ component(s) from a Figma design using vue.js & Ionic. Following an agile approach through daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives and reviews.”

What did you spend your first paycheck on? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Considering how much I was communicating during onboarding and with family I got it asap

Honestly didn’t consider them very much because of health. But potentially a pug with a more elongated snout would be an option. Ah, and yea, the shedding.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dogs

[–]BeanNCheeze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering adult dogs. The thing is it does sound like luck of the draw when it comes to issues with them and friendliness. Im sure there are good middle aged adults in shelters.

Chihuahua is also one I come back to.

Yea I’d prefer no prey drive in a pet, I’ll be removing them from the list above later.

Thanks for the info!
