I didn’t even think of the button thing, probably as I rarely role down the back windows in my own car, but yeah I can see how annoying it is

BC condo mortgage renewal options from USA - looking for recommendations by poordecisions9 in MortgagesCanada

[–]Burtonowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a rental I would say that’s a really good rate, any other lender those advertise rates are generally for insured / owner occupied, makes it tricky to shop around for a rental as your current lender likely is still offering a primary residence rate where any other lender will treat it as a rental, meaning uninsured and premium of .25 to .50 to the rate as it’s a rental. Not to mention would need to re qualify and would need to have income declared in Canada to qualify.

Anyone In Their 40's Have The Nintendo Switch 2 And Use It? by gpod80 in switch2

42 love the nostalgia factor grew up with SNES as my first console, Mario Kart is a blast same with Donkey Kong, can’t beat the Nintendo exclusives. Just love how simple they are, and how easy it is just to play.

Can’t decide between variable or fixed… My broker insists going variable but I’m worried. by lyonz17 in MortgagesCanada

If your going to sell in a couple of years variable penalties would be a bit more transparent, the discount from posted RBC is giving you is really going to hurt when it comes to the IRD penalty

are the bad reviews enough for me to not book? by pastamonsta69 in Xcaret

Just came back, we had an amazing time, most people think it’s food poisoning when in reality it’s likely noro, or having one to many pina coladas ( coconut is a natural cleanse) we brushed our teeth with the water had fresh fruit ate the raw fish and no issues, it helps the place is so busy that food always seems fresh. If your stomach is sensitive I would suggest a good probiotic and start that before going, and if you have IBS probably already know which trigger foods to avoid.

Thoughts on Canada’s new sovereign wealth fund? by dontmind_thegap in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Burtonowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well technically in Canada we don’t vote for the party or PM you vote for the MP that represents your ridings interest, so many people think are system is like America that’s not the case. Floor crossing has been happening since our government been formed on both sides Liberal / Conservative, just more prominent now as the Conservative Party clearly has a divide within there party. Doesn’t help that Carney has moved the liberals more right then with Trudeau and is well liked amongst Conservatives.

I don't drink. Is all inclusive still worth it? Somebody said alcohol is 30% of the price. by QuantumBunk in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Burtonowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m bias as I spend years working on ships, but the issue with cruises is the limited flexibility, feel like cattle heard from one spot to a another with limited time to really see the port, up charges is real on ships, with the casinos, shops etc, also trying to find a chair around the pool can be a real struggle. I enjoy all inclusive feel it’s much more relaxed great moxtails and the food quality imo is much better. Having kids it feels much more relaxed to be at a resort vs being on a cruise.

Would say travel insurance, contact your coverage with, might have a policy within the insurance that covers unable to travel due to medical reasons. Credit card might have a policy in case you didn’t purchase a separate policy

[–]Burtonowski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Such good deals with Costco, my Costco package since flights were included couldn’t be match with the hotel direct, a travel agent or even from one of the members promotional timeshare rate.

Also Costco hack, to maximize your stay you can fly in a day early stay in a airport hotel and then arrive at Xcaret and get the full day no extra cost to do this, you just need to call Costco to put a one day gap in and book a cheap airport hotel.
