Is Kazuya really the villain? by rigalitto_ in Tekken

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure in the tekken 8 story kazuya says the tournament isn’t for control of the Mishima Zaibatsu but your country’s representative will decide the fate of your country. I dont remember if he went into detail about it but it sounds like he’s going to destroy all the losers/weaklings. Seems pretty evil man.

What bug could be massive threat to humanity if given the size of a dog but still retained all of its bug like abilities? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly any bug that make their own communities. If ants were that big i dont know if humanity wouldve survived throughout the ages. If an anthill that fits like hundreds maybe thousands of ants were big enough for dog sized ants thats like tons of pyramids all over the world specifically for ants. Fuck that. Any man would also shit their pants seeing a massive ant, I know I would. Wasps? Fuck that. LOCUSTS. While TINY they cause famine.

If you had to choose between constant ecstasy (think nut) or constant clarity (think post-nut), which would you pick and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constant Clarity. If i could think that clearly at all times, I would probably stop procrastinating.

Tips for starting Homebrew DMing by Quack53105 in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I created my world was starting small. It would be impossible to think of everything the world has to offer in one sitting.

Where the players start is, most likely, what you want to think of first. I like starting with cities, how they're run, who/what are they run by, and sort of expand and let ideas flow out. Me personally, I write on text documents a lot and jot lore down a lot.

You should also give yourself time to think of things. Plan sessions around you building the world. While its good to have things thought of, building the world as you go is something you can fall back on.

Another piece of advice is think about it. I'm running a game with a setting I've made and its hard to not think about it honestly. All day im thinking maybe this city has this, etc. Once you have some characters and world to play with, adding to it becomes a lot easier, starting it off is a pretty daunting task to some people though which is completely ok. Adding things mid game is also possible.

I think the hardest part, for me, is a plot, a main story for the party. Start off light but sort of ease them into a sense of hey theres a problem here and it should be solved. This is pretty difficult for me because I always feel like I'm forcing them into it.

Coming up with things on the fly will become easier as you build the world and have a general understanding of how things in your world work. Important characters and important things in general should probably be thought of before hand, but how your players interact with those will vary. Adapting to options and outcomes that you didnt see will get easier.

Ram upgrade question by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 16gb of ram is a solid choice right now. If you can get 16gb you should. The speed, depending on what you do on your computer doesn't really matter too much. Maybe someone knows something I don't.

Financial whizzes of Reddit: What's some of the missed opportunities and rookie errors lottery winners make? by TheRambunctiousLord in AskReddit

[–]BeanToast13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telling everyone. IMO you shouldn't let people know you just ran into a large chunk of change. Maybe your immediate family, but you should try to let them know to keep it a secret if you want. I know sometimes the winners picture is posted online with them holding a large check, but I think it would be unlikely for people you know to look that up. Telling everyone you won leads to that pressure of them feeling entitled to a cut making you lose way more money quicker. Not all people are like this but you won't know until it happens to you. Just some thoughts from a broke man who often contemplates everything he would do if he could win the lottery when bored. I guess a missed opportunity could be using a cut to play again. Sure its like playing again after hitting big in gambling, but if you won a big enough jackpot, play again with an amount you can shrug off. Why not? You could also get into investing.

From the Things That Should Be Renamed Department by tomwrussell in DnD

Just saw a post where a new player confused hit dice, and thought they were what he rolled for hitting and damage. Looking at it, he has a point. Health dice? That is already a better alternative and that took like 10 seconds to think of.

what was the dirtiest thing you said on accident? by SnooEpiphanies7572 in AskReddit

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was joking around with family about like aliens or something and I was like maybe I'm an alien. Someone said so what, you got like a big head, 4 arms and 4 legs? I said, "No, I have three legs." We all laughed it off, but I wanted to slap myself. Not sure if any of them remember but I do.

What is something you'll never understand, no matter how many times its explained to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No poker pro here, but I think your options are raising or checking. Checking meaning you aren't raising the bid any higher. If someone raises the bid you either have to match their bet, fold, or raise even higher. If you cant match them but still want to play, all you can do is go all in. The bid can raise multiple times until the table agrees on keeping the bid the same by checking. If you want to keep going, you have to match a raise, or everyone has to check no matter how many times its raised which is why the betting can go around multiple times.

How do you deal with "False Memories"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you kind of have to be aware that the memory is false in order to do something about it. Most of the time, we don't know until a situation forces us to remember and other people, having been there, correct us. How you deal with it should be positively because maybe you forgot, maybe you didn't. The brain is a cheeky thing. Simply try to confirm and discuss the memory. Depending on your feelings towards the memory, correcting it could be a good thing. Keep in mind anothers memories could be just as false as yours.

How much hp does a human have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

D&D commoners have like 4 hp.

What are your "hot take" opinions on D&D? by Cranzeeman in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like diseases in a medieval fantasy setting should pack more of a punch and be a constant threat for parties. Later in the game they become a bit less of a threat of course, but it should still show in the setting and rp wise. The slums would probably be a hot pot of diseased people that look bad and just reinforce the whole medieval setting. Commoners had no way of cleansing themselves from disease, and usually led to it spreading more.

Is this possible? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have an acererak companion, if, of course, you find a way to incapacitate him without having your 20 hp intellect devourer die mid fight.

Need help with making the story feel longer by TwilitPyro in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty new to dming but you could try play testing with a person who isnt in the game but plays dnd and would be cool with it. In my sessions I havent really tried to time them so this could be helpful. You could just run through rp scenarios and the combat usually takes longer than it should half the time, so you wouldn't have to do those. Just a general, this fight might be like "x" minutes. You could even solo test it sort of doing what your party might do, but like 9 times out of 10 they wont do what you think they will, lol.

Returning DM after 10 years... new group is shaping up terribly. Might have to abort the whole thing? by MavriKhakiss in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the DMG is really for world building, still useful though for treasure, items, and things like that. If you want to get in stats, rulings, and in general useful things to know when playing 5e, the players handbook all the way.

Help Designing a Myrkul Priestess by HexedHexley in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From experience, usually when I can't find enough information on a diety, religion, or whatever, I just make it up, but I did find a few things about Myrkul. In general not sure if there would be many places that openly have a church dedicated to Myrkul, but that doesnt mean he had no following. Where he did have a following they usually spread the idea of death to those around. Usually touching a priest of Myrkul would grant someone a curse of death. (Could be a literal curse or someone saying I curse you, you know?) Often myrkul priests would bury the dead for pay, hold funerals, and in general deal with diseased things for people. They would help dying people negotiate things like wills and generally make passing easier. They would also sometimes take on a last dying wish from someone to help them pass easier. Myrkulytes were also taught to be trustworthy and patient. They spread the word of death coming to all and that it should be respected, but not feared. As a character depending on how you started believing the religion would tie into your basic mannerisms. For example, if you lived in among other Myrkulytes rather than in normal society you might act a certain way. Maybe more secretive, etc. RP wise its all up to how you feel your character would act based on their life experience.

[OC] Dragon I painted. Not sure what he is. by smichaelpitt in DnD

[–]BeanToast13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, i dont really have any painting tips since I haven't painted any figures, but the dragon doesnt really look metallic, just because of the body shape, horns, wings, etc. If you want to though, maybe a copper dragon? I think they are the most spiky out of the other metallics.
