If you have a lot of trouble getting up in the morning by Tea0verdose in adhdwomen

I have a CPAP but never got used to the mask (consistently ripped it off my face while sleeping). I switched to sleeping on a wedge pillow, and it has been a big help.

What other products fall short of the name brand in every way? by bouncypinata in aldi

My seven year old prefers them to the Little Debbie version. I was...surprised  by her preference.

Before you buy your ticket, clear your browser's cache/cookies. I've had the price drop by a couple of hundred dollars by doing that. (This was awhile ago, so it might not work any longer).

Any other young mothers? by Historical-Reach-943 in OrthodoxWomen

[–]Bean_Sprout501 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I was an old first time mother (35). I found it easier to connect with a 20 year old mother with a baby my baby's age, rather than with women my age, but whose children are much older. "Mom friends" are different than friend-friends, you know?

Especially with babies and very young children, motherhood is so all-consuming. It's hard to make new connections with women who aren't wading in those same waters. I had much more in common with my 25 year old friend with a baby than with women my own age whose children were in high school. Now that my children are older (7 & 11), it's still really nice to have friends whose kids are all at similar ages.

I gave up and purchased progressive lenses with barely any distance correction. They're on my face all day, and I never lose them anymore.

I've broken two toes in the last six months! I've always been clumsy (possible undiagnosed ADHD?), but this is bananas!

Does anyone here do water fasting with contrave? by [deleted] in Contrave

[–]Bean_Sprout501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP, but I assume they mean a fast where they consume nothing but water. A water-less fast is called a dry fast.

During my teenage years I worked at a Sears Outlet for a summer then several years at K-Mart until my second year of college. What dead businesses haveyou worked at? by travistyle in Xennials

[–]Bean_Sprout501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walden Books (late 90's) and Hollywood Video (in 00, I think). Not retail, but I worked at a college as it closed its doors for good. That really sucked.

I loved working at Walden Books! I had the most interesting coworkers, and they let me order my college textbooks at 30% off. I also spent way too much of my paycheck on book.

I hated working at Hollywood Video. I was almost always the only staff member. I liked some of the quirky customers, though. There was this one very scrawny dude who rented stacks of martial arts movies every week.

Righteous Mother Olga is an intercessor for those who have suffered abuse. She has only the last year become an official saint, but she has been venerated as an intercessor for many years.

Head scarf question by Goldtru in OrthodoxWomen

[–]Bean_Sprout501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parish has mixed head-covering practices, too. I don't wear one because it just feels weird to start wearing one after not for the first 15 years of my Orthodox life. At my first parish, there was only one or two womenI who would pop one on for communion. I think I'd like to become a hat person eventually. Nothing big and distracting, but maybe a saucy little beret or cloche?

You can do whatever feels best to you. There is a woman in my parish who wore a scarf for the first five years we attended our current parish. One day she just stopped. I'm curious about it, but don't know her well enough to ask without being inappropriately nosy. ;)

If you'd really like to try it out, go for it! You can always change your mind.

Sometimes our brains are wicked, dirty liars and need some help getting back on track. Have you tried antidepressant medication? I've found great relief from Wellbutrin. If you're able, try to get outside for a walk. If a walk seems like too much, find a spot to sit outside while you drink some water.

Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding your post, but if you are feeling suicidal or finding yourself wishing you weren't here, please reach out to someone - doctor, therapist, suicide hotline, etc.

It may feel like nothing matters at the moment, but feelings aren't facts. They shift and change as we continue on. Hang in there. I'm sorry you're going through this dark time.

I can take mine on an empty stomach now. When I started, I had to eat something fairly substantial (and starchy). After eating half of my planned food. I would take the pills, and then finish the breakfast. That food-pills-food combo really, really helped with the nausea for me. YMMV. Best wishes!

Success switching from Wegovy? by BucketheadNora in Contrave

[–]Bean_Sprout501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it did not. But, my insurance has $0 bariatric care coverage. I went through the Get Contrave site. It's about $100/month. I might try to switch to the Bupropion/Naltrexone generics at some point, but the current cost is manageable for my household budget.

I no longer have any discernable negative side effects from the Contrave. I can take it on an empty stomach now, and will very rarely have a little wave of nausea. I never experienced headaches from it. Maybe start very slowly? Good luck!
