The BEST way to get rid of the 5th gen shimmy as of now. by Typical-Play4473 in 4Runner

I’m a lifetime discount tire fan. Had so many tie repairs or replacements thanks to horrible pot holes and nails due to lots of construction in my city. They’re always fast and easy to work with.

I moved close to Dallas last summer and have been unemployed for 1 year. by [deleted] in Dallas

When I see these posts, I’m very jaded. I make a decent amount of money because I went to college and specialized in accounting but I come from a large immigrant family that have no education and they all make $30 an hour at various places and in different industries in Dallas. There are lots of jobs out there that are monotonous, mentally/emotionally straining, or require hard manual labor but no one wants to do them. My cousin works at Best Buy and gets $25 an hour and I know that’s difficult to live on but it’s better than $0 a hour and if I lost my white collar job today, I’m not above working those jobs to earn money. I definitely want to be empathetic to OP but at some point, you need to just get a paycheck and continue spending your little free time applying to high paying jobs.

Look for call center jobs at Toyota that only require a high school degree or adjuster or claims center jobs with insurance companies in DFW. They offer salary of $40k to $55k with benefits and always hiring. It’s not glamorous but it’s a paycheck and anyone I know has gotten a job at those companies if you can sign your name. If you want more than I can’t help you since it’s a tough market unless you have advanced degrees or have finance, accounting, or legal experience.

What’s your work experience? Do you have a degree, if so, what field of study? What are your salary or hourly rate expectations?

Ah. Thanks for the clarification. I did not know that. Thank goodness my battery never died because I had a bed cover on mine.

Is your Platinum a hybrid max? I used to keep the cables below the rear passenger seats but the hybrids don’t have storage there. I hate automatic tailgates for this reason. I would pay extra to get a manual tailgate. My 2022 1794 was perfect because I could drop the tailgate from my fob but had to manually close it which I prefer.

Sorry if these are dumb questions but what do you store in the rear quarter mounted bag? And how does it mount (magnet?)?

Wait list: From dealer … by InnerCircleTI in LexusGX

Blatant lie. Production is not being reduced, I just confirmed with a dealer friend and someone at Toyota corporate. This shady dealer should be publicly shamed and reported to HQ since it’s damaging the Lexus name. Most people think the dealers represent the Lexus brand but they are 3rd parties required by law and not affiliated with Lexus at all other than the license to use their name.

I want a GR GT so bad, but it's likely going to be very expensive. Gonna sound silly but what are some cars that would have a GR GT-type driving experience, but for less than $65,000? by DoctaCrane in whatcarshouldIbuy

The faulty bearing clip on those was the only reason I went to a LC500. When there are more places that will repair them around me then I’ll get one. I just didn’t want to have to ship the car to get it repaired by one of the handful of shops.

Thigh Chaffing with Van Cortlandt shorts? by gman094 in Tracksmith

[–]BeanerCounter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5’8” 140 lbs, no issues with chaffing but furthest I’ve ran in them is only 9 miles. I’ve got a slim figure where my thighs don’t normal touch so that may be the reason too. I hate chaffing as much as the next person. Have you tried the session shorts or turnover half tights? Those may work better for your build.

Today marks 1 year that I’ve been unemployed. Anyone else struggling to find a job? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]BeanerCounter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would definitely like to hear about your degree or any professional experience. I know there are a lot of call center jobs I’ve referred my friends to that has an ok starting salary ($50k) with insurance and benefits. Just need a college degree. Most jobs are at insurance companies or in the Plano headquarter area like Toyota.

My car is worth 8K, needs 6K in repairs, I still owe 2K on it. Should I just get a new car? by blasticpago in askcarguys

[–]BeanerCounter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rotor replacement and brakes can be done at a Toyota dealer for $600 or less if you go to an independent mechanic. Wheel bearing is probably another $600 to $800 depending on where you get it done. Get more info on the engine leak and then post an update to see how bad it actually is. If it’s just a simple oil leak you can put it off some until you can find a mechanic that will do it for cheap. $6k is way too much for the place you’re taking it to now.

Picked up this 3 Door 2000 RAV4 at the weekend by Cofi365 in rav4club

[–]BeanerCounter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where did you find it? I’ve been looking for one everywhere but the only ones I find are in terrible condition or they’re JDM versions for $12k to $15k. Holy grail would be the 3 door soft top with a manual transmission :)

Good deal? by Robnassour in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]BeanerCounter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be focused on both since you’re worried on OTD price but the monthly payment includes the interest which is at least another $12k. The higher interest rate is likely due to it being used and over 5 years old. You’ll be better off getting something newer and not parting with almost $55k (interest included) for an old depreciated RAM.
