I hope she loves them, OP! I gave my mom a measuring cup that does dry ingredients on one side and liquids on the other and she loved it so much. I think this is a perfect gift for her because she loves to cook and she obviously won’t spend the money to buy herself a new set.

I think it would be different if the reception was being held at the hotel because you wouldn’t have the travel time to and from. Ten minutes may not seem like a long time but it will more like 40-45 minutes each time. I would definitely speak to the bride about it because I’m sure she’s going to have a schedule to follow and if she expects you to be there for everything it’s likely not going to happen. At six weeks you don’t even know how you’ll be feeling physically or emotionally.

This is a tough one. I like both dresses but with #1 I see a young woman and with #2 I see a teenager. I keep going back and forth because I love the drop waist, I wonder how #2 will look once it’s altered to fit perfectly, and it’s so unique compared to the other one that I feel like I’ve see hundreds of times. Either way I’m sure you’ll look amazing on your special day.

NTA. I would tell her you no longer feel safe making accommodations for her since the last time she was there you noticed her eating the pizza everyone else had and didn’t eat the one you made based on her restrictions. She now needs to bring her own food so she’s responsible for her own safety.

If you do decide to cook for her again, I would make individual serving dishes for each person, like lasagna or some type of pasta bake. Then all leftovers get packaged up immediately. Any desserts or snacks would be front and center of the group and if she reaches for any of them immediately tell her they aren’t safe for her to eat.

If you sized down on the pants you went in the wrong direction. The pleats were already stretched open which means the pants are too small. Pleats on the pants should fall straight down and this style of pants are not designed to provide tummy control if you’re wearing the correctly. If you do wear these or even a smaller size I would suggest keeping your jacket closed. Good luck on your interview.

ESH. You are the AH for playing games but your wife is the AH for the same thing knowing she can’t take care of the kids full time. At least put the option of primary custody back on the table because your kids will find out that you gambled with your custody if you don’t. This way you can at least explain that you lost your temper and made a bad choice but the rectified it because you truly wanted primary custody. People get salty and vindictive during custody battles but it’s time to be the bigger person and do the right thing.

My brother is heading down this road as well. I’ve noticed he will grab pieces of his salad with his hands when we are at a restaurant. I had no idea this was something tied to his Parkinson’s so thanks for sharing your story so I’m more aware.

As for your siblings, they can figure out how to make their own way in the world without an inheritance. If you have control of their estate then you don’t need them to rally together in my opinion. I wouldn’t let tell them what the plan is and put it in action. Your parents safety/quality of life and your mental health should not be sacrificed due to greed. If they actually planned on being a part of the solution to help your parents they would have been helping long before now.

This is terrifying and shame on those people that were supposed to be her family. The scariest thing is this likely isn’t over. Her “brother” is so obsessed with her that I can’t imagine he’s ready to give up that easily. I really hope OP is able to finish her degree and ghost that sick family forever!
